Kwame fights for rebounding position and gets shoved in the back... dude is THE difference in this game right now. |

.351 FG |
Thanks. | Its funny his 3 point shooting is one .001 lower. Does mean he has no mid range jumper. |
It means he's extremely limited. He lacks the speed to get past his defender and the athleticism to finish inside against bigger players. He's a bad spotup shooter.
Sasha's only saving grace is he's pesky on defense and even though he is not quick or fast he has learned to use angles well forcing his defender to go one way which allows the help defenders to know where the ball is going. |

Odom has to deserve a little credit too for being more aggressive offensively. |

JD wrote: | bluestorm1990 wrote: | JD wrote: | bluestorm, Smush's defensive problems are well documented. His problem is he's lazy and he relies on his hands. He doesn't stay with his assignment, and instead of trying to shade his man, just gives up when they go past him. Or he'll try to swipe as they go past (flat-footed, btw) and oftentimes picks up the reaching foul.
Quit trying to mask his problems. They're there... and they're blatant. | I know that , but the lakers help defense is still poor . I just don't see how its far to talk only about his defense and not complain about anybody's else. Can honestly say that every body else on this team brings their defense every night. At least he makes up for it with his speed , passing skills (even though they don't show in stats wise) |
OK... let's try this one more time.
The "help defense" you're referring to, would require the post defender to leave his man and cut off the ball handler. This in turn will, open up the lane to anyone/everyone that's A) under the hoop or B) inclined to dive towards the hoop.
Help defense is used when people are playing their roles. NOT to cover Smush's ass, when he get's lazy.
Its not a difficult concept, dude. | First off its not just smush , its all of them . I'm not just refering to smush. Lots of people on this team can get burned easy , even kobe sometimes. I"m not taking when somebody goes to help defend the shot but is too late. I'm talking where everybody just stands there like idiots as the person just walks into the paint and dunks . What can smush do when the person runs past him the basket isn't far away , its not like he going to get infront of him in time. Either foul or let him blow by. |

Don't take this the wrong way, but please tell me you are Eastern European, that would make that comment all the funnier |

Well I looked at your name, and then when you said "He is Defensive Player" I got this image of Vlade saying that with a heavy eastern european accent... |

Kwame has played 38 minutes so far...I'm impressed. Earlier in the season, even last month, it looked like he would lose his focus and his game after about 32 minutes. |

You gotta love it when the announcers get excited when Kwame makes a free throw...or not. |
