Only a 1 game lead in the loss column - and still tied with Sac in losses. Luckliy the Lakeshow has more home games coming up. With memphis 5 up in the loss column, I don't see a 6 seed. Just hope L.A. gets Dallas in the first round. |

37 and 34 on the season. We would have to really stink it up from here to miss the postseason.
Great games from Kobe and Kwame.
Lamar came up big with the three balls. |

Bucks nail a three...
Kobe fouled and makes both throws again.
Kobe with 43 points
And holy CRAP, that was some funny ish from Joey Crawford.
Lakers up 101-96, Bucks timeout with 5.6 left. |
What did Crawford do? |
Sorry, I should have explained what happened.
After Kobe got fouled he threw a bullet pass the length of the court to Joey and Crawford had to use all of his 18" vert to one-hand the pass. Then he panders to the crowd after the nice snatch. Hilarious. In slow motion you could really see Crawfords expression to the crowd. It was priceless! _________________ "Why do you think bad things happen, anyway???" Kwame: the Beast is getting the confidence that Jordan robbed him of

Big No Thanks to:
Luke: contributed very little offense and let Kukoc play like he was 25
Sasha: brilliant fouls in the penalty and brick after brick
PJ: substitutions (or lack of) killed us |
You realize Smush's "GW steal" was actually 110% a result of DG slapping
the ball downcourt out of the offensive player's hands, and came almost
directly after Smush had a lazy-pass turnover that led to an open shot
we LUCKED into Joe Smith missing, right? |

No.
Cuz that doesn't necessarily give us a bigger lead.
We're 3.0 games over NOK... less so over Sac, but that's less important
because it has more to do with which seed we'd end up with.
Winning our next 3 games helps - but if NOK won their next 3 games, we'd
still have a 3.0 game lead over them with 7 games to go (for us) and
something like 9 or 10 to go for them - so we still wouldn't clinch yet. |

no, not even close. winning our next three would merely clinch us 40 wins. new orleans could go undefeated and still finish with 48, which obviously wont happen. but we are far away from technically clinching but theres almost no doubt we are going to the playoffs-easy schedule for us, difficult schedules for both the hornets and kings. |

See people, this is why I have the magic numbers post in the stickied Dennis_D thread.
Read and learn grasshoppers: http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?p=429833#429833
The Lakers' magic number for the Hornets is 11. If they win out, then the Hornets can't do anything to catch the Lakers. More to the point, though, 3 more wins does nothing to guarantee anything. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

Good win, but DAMN I AM SCARED AT THE 7th SPOT.
Hopefully the Clippers will have a 10 game loosing streak, and Lakers get to the 6th spot.
Either 6th or 8th. _________________ Be nice to Mitch and everyone in this planet. Never do evil or commit any act that might hurt others' feelings. We must all become environmentalists.

He's definitely playing a lot better. More aggressively, going up strong on the offensive glass, hitting his free throws at a better rate. Also his defense has not slipped at all, and his team defense has even improved. |
I believe Jack Haley, and, maybe, Stu Lantz were discussing it... I think some of the consensus is that the team, including Phil, and Kobe, are starting to trust Kwame... When the team starts to trust you, they work the ball to you... Kwame just has to be in the right place, at the right time, and ready for the ball. Kwame also has a new trust in the team, and in himself. That means he trusts that he will be able to get a good shot/layup/dunk, everytime the ball comes to him.
On defense, Kwame even seems to be moving his feet, and getting in good defensive position. I guess he's been reading some of my posts...
Unfortunately, I have to say, that I saw a few situations, where Kwame and Lamar were not on the same page... I thought, probably, like Kwame, that it was clearly Odom's shot... Odom chose to try and help Kwame become an even bigger star[where would he get that idea??]. Kwame wasn't ready, and fumbled the ball. I saw Smush pass up a shot, and defer to Kobe, and Kobe was clearly covered, like ants to a lolipop. Not taking your shot, not doing things, in rhythm, they really throw things out of kilter. We still need to make smarter decisions. Someday, we might have a great "on-court general" again, and things may become more consistent. _________________ "Teamwork is a nebulous thing. Hey man, we appreciate your posts here, but you can't leave your wife hanging. You have your obligations as a man.
I can't say how excited I was to see Kwame actually finish a one-handed DUNK! |

1.) Friday night... FRI & SAT game-threads tend to have less people at
home watching the game.
2.) The chatroom thread is in the mix on the front forum-page, so some
people bail LG to go there (sometimes me!) lol |
