only viable team i could find that has the money to sign him outright is the sixers (about $ 58M in potential cap space)...

if he wants to go to the knicks, cavs or heat then he will either have to be traded or take a significant discount...

He is not going anywhere (good or bad). He will opt out. Hopefully he does his 1st smart thing with his influence by making sure Ham if offed.

I will be surprised if he leaves, although I kind of think the Lakers need to move on from LBJ, he's great no doubt about it, but he can carry a team in a way like he used to do, he needs a very, very strong supporting cast now, but his salary doesn't allow for it....if he did in theory and stepped into cap I think that would allow the Lakers to get better two way role players....not sure about getting another star this season, not sure who would make sense...maybe a devin booker type with AD?

Be a legitimate roster construction team instead having LeGM call the shots.

LeGM calling the shots worked when he was 30, not when he’s 40.

I don’t think Cari got good info, but maybe there is a miracle and she is correct.

I think it’s more of the same LePassiveAggressive leak and Jeanie is too scared to say bye.

They all need to GTFO.

We are the Lakers...

We will have a boat load of cap and will sign a superstar to replace him like we always do..

We dont need to build thru the draft like other teams

This is the obvious issue that LeBron stans fear.

Actual max star that is capable of carrying a team. Not a 40 year old who can’t sustain and employing his buddy who is a ticking time bomb.

Although to be fair to AD, he’s doing his thing as #2, it’s just that any point in time that #2 may not be available either in game or game to game.

But point being we can sign a younger max star capable of carrying the team without the headache and politics of LeGM and his terrible personnel evals.

That actually is not true. When was the last time we signed a superstar prior to LJ.

Can't. Nobody will come to the Lakers except for Moz/Deng-like players as long as Jeanie remains as owner.

Lebron attracted AD here. Without Bron, there would have been no AD.

Well when you have Lebron and AD, there really isnt much money left for superstars..

Generally there is one big fish per cycle..

Last 2 being Shaq in the 2000s, and now Lebron in the post kobe era..

Shaq in 1995. We'd just have to wait another 26 years for another superstar to come.

Yall acting like we have gone thru 10 year droughts of not making the playoffs..

And how many Kobe’s are found in the draft? Shaq…then Lebron. That’s the only stars that willingly came here in the last how many years. AD didn’t come here because he wanted to be a Laker, he came here to play with his bff Lebron. He would’ve tried to force his way to whichever team Lebron was on

The point is we have always had a superstar.. That isnt going to change..

Youre telling me someone Like Ant Edwards as a free agent would rather stay in Minny and live there than if the Lakers called and said its your franchise now and can play with whoever you want in LOS ANGELES..

I am not trying to be argumentative, but you are changing the narrative. You said we will have a boatload of $ and will sign another superstar to replace him. That is not correct.

If LeBron leaves, be open to trading AD if someone offers the right package to jumpstart the rebuild.

Yes, because he knows that he will make a lot more money staying in Minnesota. They can give him his first big contract that other teams can’t match. Not to mention that Minny has built a contender around him. If the Lakers sign another star it will likely be one in his 30’s.

definitely interesting to see if the lakers decide to blow the whole thing up or make moves to stay in contention with ad...

can see the lakers keeping ad and not wanting to bottom out...

lebron has not been bashful about his love for the knicks, perhaps a reunion with old lakers julius and josh might be possible?

kinda regretting thr lakers passed on dejounte at the moment, russell might have one foot out the door...that will be an asset lost for nothing...

Look around the league. The players leading their teams to series wins are in their 20's. Lakers are gonna have to deal with a rebuild sooner or later, the later they push it back the more painful its going to get.

If LeBron leaves, trade AD to Sacramento for Sabonis and a pick. Then you can fill in the holes by getting rid of some of the dead weight on the roster.
