We are catching these dudes at a good time. Not playing particularly well with no real great momentum and missing Towns while we are at home, in good rhythm and have more to play for.

Cavs and the wolves are 2 of the best defensive teams in the league, wolves probably number one, so it would be interesting to see how many points we can score tomorrow.
We can’t let Conley and Reid go off (they seem to always do against us)

Don’t forget about Kyle Anderson he seems to always give us issues when he plays against us, he was out the last time we won against Minnesota

I hate the T-Pups, they always get up to play us. Towns being out helps, but will be tough on a b2b - they are still competing for seeding also.

I see some here want the Lakers to play the Nuggets early. I'm not on that boat. I think we finish in the 8 spot.

Great article. You don't have to read it you can listen.

WE NEED THIS GAME. If we win today we have a great chance of going undefeated, and I'll really take them seriously if win today.

I was thinking similarly, I said to myself if they get the 6th seed I’d get roped back into believing, (I don’t believe now). But, the Lakers can’t control other teams, only their own wins/losses so if they win out regardless of where they are in the standings I’ll take them seriously.

I’m suspiciously pessimistic now however because over the last 30 games;

8 impressive regular season type wins vs Bos/Milx2/Clev/KYK/OKC/Min/LAC

were offset by:

7 revealing post season type losses vs Denx2/Sacx2/GSWx2/Pho.

I categorize the losses as such because they needed to split agains Den to send a message that they are to be taken seriously after getting spanked last post season and so far this regular season, especially after talking smack about paying Den back for saying they are the Lakers’ daddy.

Also, the Lakers needed to split with Sac since they were chasing them in the standings to be taken seriously due to recently getting dominated.

Finally, the Lakers needed to split with GSW and beat Pho to be taken seriously since those team were just ahead/behing in the standings.

Losing both last two match ups against those 3 (Den/Sac/GSW), plus dropping the last match up to Pho is just too many important game losses to take them seriously just yet. The impressive wins do put the Lakers in place to be taken seriously by winning out but the losses means they have more to prove and haven’t earned the right to be taken seriously yet. That were I am imo.

Must win. We beat the T'Wolves and the Warriors and we're in a very good place. As the PHX vs Pelicans game will help us in one form or another. Either bringing PHX closer to us (we have tie breaker) or tying Pelicans with us (and we have tie breaker). So either benefits us tbh.

We know Sacramento is likely beating Brooklyn tonight.. so we MUST beat Minni.

I’d trade the sweep of the Bucks for:
a spit against the Bucks and a split vs the Nuggs over their last 2 games.

I’d trade the sweep of the Cavs for:
a split against the Cavs and a split vs the Kings over their last 2 games.

I’d trade the spit with the Pacers for:
a win over the Suns in their last game.

I can over look the last 2 losses to the GSW since AD was poked in the eye and the Lakers have beaten the GSW this season, plus there is a game against the GSW remaining on the schedule. I can also take getting swept (officially) by the Pacers since the Lakers beat the Pacers for the IST championship (doesn’t count as a reg season game). The Lakers’ record would be the same with those wishful trades but I could take the Lakers seriously with the differences which I don’t take them seriously now. Winning out would change that!

Play-in merchant priorities.

So that when they are the 9 seed, the excuse can be that they ran out of gas playing 2 must win games.

I think I read that Steph is out today for the Warriors. So it could just be two old guys gearing up for battle Royale on Tuesday which works in my favor since I will be there on Tuesday.
