I don't want Doc or Jackson.
After Vogel was fired, Darvin Ham, Terry Stotts and Kenny Atkinson all advanced to the final round of interviews for the Lakers head coach position.
Maybe the Lakers go for one of Stotts or Atkinson if Ham is fired. Stotts is known as an offensive coach and I think he would improve the Lakers offensive. Atkinson impressed me when he was with the Nets. I think Atkinson was in a tough situation when the Nets signed Kyrie and KD as they both wanted Nash to replace him and Atkinson wanted to start Allen over DJ which reportedly caused issues.
I'm fine if the Lakers take a chance on Handy until the end of the season as long as they bring in an experienced assistant like how Vogel had Hollins and Kidd. Or bring in Dudley and Rondo for Handy's staff. _________________ Coach MWP. |

Judging by the success of the 76ers, I'm quite confident I've been right about Doc being way too overrated. The Clippers actually paid Foston a frp in order to acquire Doc. Anywho, Doc would be the worst choice but knowing our very knowledgeable FO, they will probably select him. _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024 |

Add Kenny Atkinson to the list as he's a better prospect than those three. Phil Handy is a player development coach not a head coach, so I don't know why people are bringing him other than throwing his name out there.
D'Antoni and Atkinson are better choices than Doc(overrated and terrible at in game adjustments), Budenhozer(would just be Ham 2.0) and Handy(player development coach NOT head coach).

Atkinson and Stotts would have been better choices than Ham. But both would have had a screwed situation for the beginning of last season.
I'd definitely go with Atkinson however when Ham is fired. The time with the Warriors has hopefully likely only helped. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Not firing Ham.
Sam Amick said high ranking FO member/source pushed back on idea Ham is being fired.
This is 100 percent many players not wanting to play for him.
Of course, I highly doubt Pelinka has an issue with keeping Ham around until it’s time to blame the season on the coach. Scapegoat Coach is a great tactic to maintain your GM position. |

VOGEL SHOULDA NEVER BEEN FIRED… NO explanation needed!!! Such a DUMB DECISION, NO matter what reason was given (I still don’t know?). I assume it was just stupidity or a power move by dummies! 🤯😡 _________________ My Laker squad.

Scapegoat. By firing Vogel, the FO was basically saying "We suck because of the coach and nothing else. Westbrick was great. The coach just couldn't utilize him." Pelinka and Jeanie were the smart ones responsible for building the championship team. Vogel was useless.
Believe or not, some fans actually bought into that narrative. _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024 |

No more inexperienced coaches or players JUST STARTING to become coaches.
Rondo's a name, he has no coaching experience. The Lakers should not be his first stop. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

It's more of like, if we're not gonna get a S tier coach with championship experience and we're going to have either a new coach or a mediocre one then I would rather just go with Rondo who has the potential to be an amazing coach |

It should be Stu Lantz so he can teach them how to keep the ball inbounds when they block a shot. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

Names I've read people have mentioned, I personally wouldn't want Jackson or Doc.
Mark Jackson, Jordi Fernandez, Kenny Atkinson, Terry Stotts, Mike Budenholzer, Dave Joerger, Doc Rivers, Mike D'Antoni, Becky Hammon and Juwan Howard. _________________ Coach MWP. |

None of those options. I’d be tempted to give Rajon Rondo his first opportunity as head coach. He studied film more than any player on the team. And we have a history of former Celtics becoming great head coaches for the Lakers. Bill Sharman. 1972 is arguably the greatest team of all-time. |

I'll take one of Atkinson, Stotts, or Budz at this point.
Preferably Atkinson and Stotts in tandem.
Ham was too green to begin with and cooked at this point. The team has obviously completely tuned him out. _________________ The butter's hard and the eggs are chillin' in the dark.

Ask James. He likely has an opinion on who he will listen to.
Until he decides to throw him under the bus, of course. |

Get an actual coach like Kenny Atkinson, not Rondo. let Rondo cut his teeth as an assistant somewhere first. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

D'Antoni would elevate the games of DLO, Reaves, Rui, Wood
Only downside is AD would likely take more threes, LeBron would continue to play high minutes, and Vando would likely get no play time. Not unless he turned into Shawn Marion 2.0. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:
