It feels surreal that the 2023-24 season starts today. For some reason I’m more nervous than I’ve ever been at the start of any other season. I keep reassuring myself that we have most of the same team that contributed to the success after the trades and adequately replaced those that are gone but I have a nagging feeling deep in the subconscious that I’m deluding myself.

In the words of the Jedi, “I have a bad feeling about this”. 🥺

I like the Lakers chances tonight. The Nuggets had to make insane shots to win the playoff games and they lost Bruce Brown who seemed to always make the key plays for them.

Tough place to open up the season. Lebron led team don’t have a good track record on opening nights. Lebron usually start the season slow too.

It's been a long time coming but the season is about to begin. I have high hopes for this team. It's the deepest roster we've had in quite some time. The first 3 games Denver, Phoenix, and Sacramento are real testers. If the injury bug doesn't bite us we have a legitimate shot at the Larry O'Brien.

GO LAKERS !!!

I don’t think we will win tonight because we need to gel and doesn’t feel like we are conditioned for a 48 minute game in Denver given our starters didn’t really have a full dress rehearsal in preseason.

Having said that, I would love to win this one and spoil ring night.

Phoenix Suns star Bradley Beal is unlikely to play tonight in season opener vs. the Golden State Warriors, league sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Suns are taking a cautious approach with Beal’s back ailment to begin the new season.

But the altitude and lack of oxygen. I hate this place. It's probably the best homecourt advantage!!

Heh, it would've been hilarious if somehow our Lakers were able to play their last pre-season game at the Forum in Inglewood if only to remind people out there who owned that city before the Clippers flee to their new arena over there.

Yeah, I know the Clippers bought the Forum and it might have been tricky to expect them to let us play there just before they move in, <checks the banners on the wall> but the Lakers have let them play in our house for the past 23 seasons... it's the least they could do to let us play there for one pre-season game.

In any case, let's get a win tonight Lakers!!!!

Hopefully the Lakers have been in Denver for a few days now. That way they’re acclimated to the air and good for some preseason bonding.

Usually I kinda sit opening game nights out just because Lebron/Lakers tend to just lose.

HOWEVER, tonight feels different.

- This is the Nuggets ring ceremony, and opening night for teams coming off a championship often comes out to lose.
- Lebron especially will play with a lot of motivation seeing the Nuggets getting their rings. Same with AD.
- Nuggets are weaker this year.
- Lakers look better this year with that off-season/training camp.

Call me crazy, but tonight feels like a win to me. It just feels like we will finally have an opening night victory.

After the 2021-22 season opener, the league's defending champions are 59-16 (. 784) in regular-season openers.
