Fantastic game for what he was given.
Ham nearly cost us the game benching Wood for Reddish for no reason. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Really big game tonight. He really should play more due to the balance he brings our lineup offensively. Plus he was REALLY into this one, and we need that kind of energy.
I liked seeing him play with Vando, I think they complement each other pretty well and think it is worth exploring. |

I like the way he rebounds. He can go for rebounds while AD contests shots. It makes sense defensively. |

He was particularly impressive in the 3rd QT.

His rebounds are a difference maker. When Wood is on for his rebounds he helps Davis tremendously. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

I feel like Wood's defense has been better than advertised. He's not a great defender, but we've seen him do a good job of contesting shots, especially in the paint. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |

Strong outing from him again. Hopefully, he's finding his game. The team is doing a little better job playing to his strengths defensively. |

He doesn't like going big. I would also imagine this is a very small sample size.

Wood has been a good player to have in. The more time he gets, the better he seems to be and more comfortable.
He's got to play more.
Hayes should never play when we have Woods available... |

Lebron, Wood, AD works for many reasons. The rebounds, Wood stretching the floor so AD doesn't have to. The defense not being able to slag off on Wood, and Wood being a three point threat that can also run off the three point line and finish on a drive.
When in rhythm Wood is a decent defender too.
If Wood's three point rhythm was back it wouldn't surprise me to see a DLO/Prince/LBJ/Wood/AD lineup where Prince could be either Prince or Christie. But that's if Ham was a smart coach. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Curious how you envision James on the defensive end with that lineup?
Either Woods or James would be assigned primary defender on a SF. Typically more mobile than either can handle consistently. Who would be chasing them around against most rosters in the NBA.
Clippers are a bad example because they play a small ball lineup with a less limited SF. James was able to defend Leonard effectively because Leonard plays physical and in the paint quite a bit. Few SFs are playing that way.
The way Woods is playing, it would be great to see he and Davis play together more. Even to give James more rest per games. But at the cost of less mpg for the offensive focal point and continuity makes it difficult. |

Wasn't this the point of signing Wood in the first place (running him with the starters) by their own admission?
DLO,AR,LBJ,AD + Whatever was available in this order:
Matchup Starter - Vando (D) / Prince (O)
6th/7th - Vincent/Rui/Wood
8th/9th - Max/Reddish
Break glass in case of emergency - Hayes/JHS
Should have been really apparent/easy to manage for Ham and why I can't quite buy the "injuries" excuse from him or LBJ.
The roster isn't great but still better than a 500 record, very inconsistant output and dealing with disgruntled players/possibly firing the coach..... |

As I’ve been saying some we signed him, this dude needs to get minutes. He can play with AD and unclog the offense when Vanderbilt or Reddish is in. |

In an interview, Wood said that Ham told him he would have "a big role."
I am not aware of anyone on the Lakers saying it was planned for Wood to start, and I am not aware of Wood ever saying that.
Some reporting said Wood had "the potential to start," but the general expectation was that he would come off the bench and average about 20 minutes a game. |
