Reality is unless he’s really hot from 3 he adds nothing to the team, Ham has grown some sense that playing him off the bench in somewhat lesser minutes then what he was getting earlier in the season has Improved our team but he is such a black hole out there when he isn’t giving decent minutes |

Big 3rd quarter from Prince vs Bucks! Eight points, two rebounds with two timely treys to keep the momentum going in LA's favor. |

The only 2 good things about playing this dude is 1.It keeps Max Christie's value low to resign him as a restricted free agent and 2. Dude is clutch and can hit big shots. Whereas Troy Brown, I thought every clutch three he threw up would be in an inevitable brick, I do trust Taurean's ability to hold his nerves in big moments. |

No problem with prince since moving to the bench…
I wouldn’t mind bringing him back next season unless they can upgrade his position. |

His shot may come and go but he needs to have a better defensive presence. I guess I could say that for half the team though... |

Up and down night tonight, but he finished with the team high +10. Those free throws were the most nervous ones of the night, for me personally, and he nailed them both. EVEN after Ham called a time out to give AD some medical attention.
I think he played good defense tonight down the stretch. |

Off the bench 15-20mins/game Prince is pretty good _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“ |

Prince playing the role he should have played all year. Off the bench 15-21 mpg. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Corner 3s are easier because distance is shorter
Corner 3s are also harder for some because of depth perception. |

A positive comment about TP?! That won’t fly on this board
Definitely looking a lot better for the team now he’s coming off the bench though _________________ #18 next... |

for 4.5M Prince has been decent. what more can you ask for that kind of money nowadays in NBA. as long as he can shoot over 35% on his threes, he's well worth his 4.5M. |

The Lakers were able to get better production last year at the back up SF spot for the vet min, (3pt%, rebounds, defense). Prince not providing anything else, (not rebounding, not playmaking, not defense), makes Prince a vet min type value. It’s not Prince’s fault that he was overvalued and overplayed with unrealistic exceptions that he would morph into a different player, but he is who he has been and will continue to be who he was, and that is good value for a less than 20ish minutes per game back up at vet min salary.
To be a good BAE I would expect some other average form of contribution on top of 38% 3pt shooting, not a liability in all other areas. One good litmus test to help determine if a player has good value is to ask, “do you want them back next year at the current salary?”. Would you want to spend resources other than the vet min to retain Prince for next year? Others may differ but I would want Prince back for the vet min but wouldn’t spend any other resources to retain him.
I was pleased that Prince maintained his 3pt % and didn’t decline, (looking at you MBeasley/WMatthews/DGreen), but, when the BAE is all you have left to upgrade a couple positions, using the BAE on a players that can only do one thing decently is overpay and that value could have be gotten with vet min so that the BAE could be used elsewhere. Thank you Prince! I’m glad you hit several good 3 pointers for us this season with some in crucial situations! We want you to come back next year and continue to be a part of the Lakers winning tradition. Would you take the vet min to stay with the team? If not then regretfully adios amigo. _________________ “When it looks as if it is a realistic possibility, I want to focus on winning a ship like it’s a goal that can’t be denied. Ham set him up for failure by playing him 30+ minutes
TP should play 18-20 mpg in balanced lineups that would allow him to do his thing |

Yep, I like your concise direct to the point style, I tried to say the same in the previous post but used a mountain of text lol! You said what I was thinking more efficiently! _________________ “When it looks as if it is a realistic possibility, I want to focus on winning a ship like it’s a goal that can’t be denied. He was really effective today. Him knocking down almost every one of his looks was important in getting away from Cleveland in both halves of this one. Minutes like this off the bench are valuable since we don't have much other scoring punch off the bench |
