Darvin Ham says there is “definitely” some hope for Jarred Vanderbilt’s injury but the team doesn’t want to get ahead of itself. He added that Vanderbilt is still seeking further evaluation for his right mid-foot sprain.

I'm good with a mid-March return. Let's get close to 90-95% and not rush back from this. We're going to need him if we're going to get to the postseason. Also, this can heavily influence how the Lakers pursue their deadline targets. _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant |

Sprain is better than tear. Hopefully he is better after the 4 weeks, even if they have to extend the 4 weeks to 6 weeks. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

A sprain can be a tear. They didn't say what level of a sprain he has. Based on that other tweet I posted it looks like he still going to specialists and getting opinions. So I am prohibitively optimistic lol _________________ #IStillBelieveTaurean |

A sigh of relief. Not just to potentially have Vando back, but to avoid having any long lasting damage to that foot.
Foot sprains happen a lot in the NBA. Avoiding a lisfranc situation seems like a victory for everybody involved. 3 to 4 weeks seems very reasonable. Getting him back this year is a billion times better than what the talking heads were telling me it was looking like. I'm glad I can ignore them and have reason to ignore them more going further! huzzah! |

But really just get healthy, lets revisit this in 3-4 weeks. Hopefully everything goes according to plan. |

Quote: | According to team and league sources, there is some internal pessimism regarding Vanderbilt’s potential return. Before the announcement he was set to be re-evaluated in three to four weeks, team sources believed he was trending toward being done for the season. – via The Athletic
|
Even with the news of being reevaluated in 3-4 weeks, it was reported he already consulted with multiple medical opinions, and that to me screams “weighting between surgical intervention or not”….the former being where his season is effectively done.
If he does return, imho it’s based on pain tolerance and how it impacts his ability to contribute/perform on the floor, while considering the risk at play in exacerbating his current sprain. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

I think he was on the bench with no boot on… which should be encouraging.
3-4 weeks is more like back in 6 weeks with 2 weeks to get back in basketball shape. |

I'm pretty sure he is done for the season. I think the Lakers are done for the season as well. At least I have the Niners.

^On the flip, 9ers made a deadline deal to fortify their strength on D. They better come correct on Sunday with some domestic disturbance on MaHomes. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

Seems like they’re just using their time here. Going by what I’ve seen so far, I suspect there is a tear but that surgery would guarantee that his season is done. By re-evaluating in a few weeks, they can see how it is progressing on its own and if surgery is ultimately needed, he’d still be on schedule to be healthy by the start of next season. |

Not gonna be easy beating the Kansas City Mahomees. If any team can, its this one. |

It's probably extremely frustrating watching Ham put Prince on people he'd be defending, and NOT putting Max on them. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:
