It wouldn't be a bad thing at all if more ex-players did this. _________________ Internet Argument Resolved |

I don't mind seeing an old player succeed, but I think there might be a lot of abuse and favoritism depending on how their career went down. |

Immediately got concerned about how Smush might officiate the Lakers, given his unhappiness with his tenure (though it was by far the most successful period of his career). |

Becoming a referee is a hard process that takes a long time and commitment. I don't think a former players would be particularly prone to abuse and favoritism. If they were, that would be common apparent pretty quickly. |

Yeah it certainly takes time to learn how to get away with gambling teams and rigging games. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

I never liked him when he was on the Lakers, but I loved THIS PLAY. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

Good for him. I saw his interview after Kobe's death, and he was legitimately saddened/flustered and wished there was more resolution between them. Whatever beef or feud they had, I'm sure he was ready to quash it.
I will admit I was pretty hard on him. For a guy that went undrafted, it was quite an accomplishment to start 2 seasons in a row for the Lakers. One can argue they had a talent deficit, but still impressive nonetheless. |
