20 points in 20 minutes tonight and the key player down the stretch for the pre-season win. 6-9 from three. That will get it done!

As Coach Ham said, that may have earned him a job.

I said in the last game that you were making it clear that you plan to get yourself an NBA job somewhere. You might've just landed yourself a job with the Lakers. Go ahead now Matt!

I’ll give him the 15th spot if he continues the rest of the preseason.

I'll with hold judgement until I see him do that consistently...

But I was impressed...

Story reminds me of Kurt Warner.

Reminded me of Matt Thomas trying to get a job with 3 pt shooting. On this team, you need a guy like that

I wanted to look him up on wiki but I got the NFL quarterback instead. Who is he anyways? Nicely done though. Defense can be taught. At worse, we've got a Buddy Hield for cheap. Let him play 30+ minutes in the last two pre-season games. I want to see more of him.

I was really hoping Swider shined. These kids have a short window to show their worth. Swider has a better all around game. He picked a bad time to stink up the joint.

What can Swider do better? (Not doubting it, just don’t know much about either of them)

We need to dump a guard or two; we obviously can't but ...

Last night on the post game show, Fisher and Worthy both seemed lukewarm on Ryan. Fish mentioned there is no longer a place for a one dimensional player in the NBA like there once was, but that it was a great showing offensively and maybe he just earned himself a job, even if it's not on the main roster right now. Worthy said something similar.

All I know is we needed offense, and we wouldn't have won that game without his surprising contribution.

How bad is his defense really? And players make a living being one dimensional - see Seth curry, mike Miller, etc

The Lakers as a whole, including Ham, said the same.
They want basketball players over specialists. We've seen too often in the playoffs that guys who can't play defense well get targeted.

If Matt's all-around game (especially on the defensive end) doesn't become a negative, he could make the team. He seems to be in a similar situation as Swider, except Swider has the protection of being on a 2-way.

We need this guy

After i saw the hunger in which he hunts his shots with the first game I wanted him. He moves extremely well without the ball which creates offense by it self

Fora 15th guy on the roster, I wouldn't be so concerned about his defense, he can learn to get better. He is likely only playing in blow-outs anyway. But if you run some special situations, end of quarter, bringing in the ball for one shot or need a 3 to tie the game, then you need guys who can do that.

Everyone must remember he was hot, and this does not happen every night. Cole has been cold in the last 2 games maybe the pressure has gotten to him a little. Imho Cole is the better defender and rebounder, but let's see what happens. BTW Hield is not such a great defender or rebounder either, so don't expect 3 and D from any of these guys.
