I wouldn’t take that seriously, it’s just Lebron being fine with making another $100 mil, raising his family on the West Coast and being close to Hollywood. Even then, he feels obligated to talk about how much he wants to win. I am sure that he would love to win but is comfortable with playing out the string. Expect some tough talk at the deadline, when the Lakers are eliminated and when a rival exceeds what he has done.

That presumes the Nets aren’t focused on competing this year and their real priority is trading Durant.

I doubt that’s the case.

My guess is the Nets intend to compete this year with Durant & Irving, and don’t intend to trade him at the deadline.

I don't love this deal, but this effectively undoes the mistake that was the Westbrook deal.

Dallas Mavericks Receive (Trade Bertans and '25 FRP):
SF Talen Horton-Tucker

Indiana Pacers Receive (Trade Hield and Turner):
SG NAW
SF Malik Beasley
PF Wenyen Gabriel
'25 FRP (via DAL, Lottery Protected)
'29 FRP (via LAL, Top 3 Protected otherwise '29 SRP)

Los Angeles Lakers Receive (Trade Westbrook, THT, Gabriel, Johnson, and 2 FRPs):
PG Patrick Beverley
SG Buddy Hield
SF Rudy Gay
PF Davis Bertans
C Myles Turner

Utah Jazz Receive:
PG Russell Westbrook
PF Wenyen Gabriel
'27 FRP (via LAL, Unprotected)

That would leave the Lakers looking a LOT more like they're pre-Westbrook roster.

PG: Patrick Beverley / Kendrick Nunn
SG: Buddy Hield / Lonnie Walker / Austin Reaves / Max Christie
SF: LeBron James / JTA / TBJ
PF: Anthony Davis / Davis Bertans / Rudy Gay
C: Myles Turner / Thomas Bryant / Damion Jones

More floor seats? So who they watchin on the floor? Can’t be just for Brunson & Bullyius, can it? 🤔

The Knicks are adding more floor seats for the 2022-23 season as part of a reconstructed courtside layout at MSG. They changed the location of the scorer's table and other stuff for new seats in the first and second row, MSG Sports CEO Andy Lustgarten said on an earnings call.

Damn seats are way too close as is. They give no room for the players going full speed to land. All the while claiming they care about the players safety. Lying sack of poo poo.

If the Irving ship has sailed we would hear about the Lakers moving towards making other deals, it’s obvious that the Irving deal is still on life support which means we can still end up making a deal for him, the Lakers probably have like 5-6 deals on the table right now, let’s see what happens.

Why does Utah do this? Ainge hates the Lakers so he isn’t looking to do us any favors. And this sure looks like them taking it up the ass for no apparent reason. Also not really sure why Dallas does this either.

Thats all we can hope for. There is no homerun move.

LeBron’s and Davis’ health will be the biggest determining factor for us but depth like this will give them support.

Seeing a lot of trade proposals being posted where the constant obstacle is our lack of tradable assets.

And since we can’t really pull moveable salaried players out of thin air till Dec 15th, we gotta finesse our available draft capital to find configurations that could work. @Gng recently alluded to this route, so maybe we can take a closer look at how we can create more tradable assets that we can trade right now.

First, I lied and we can pull one more $alary out the bag via Marc’s 2.7m TPE, which will expire at the end of the month. We sitting on 14 at the one time, so we can roster one more without sending any salary out.

But that’s gonna take draft capital. So let’s cover the basics…Stepien restricts us from trading FRPs past 2029 and we can’t trade any of those future picks in consecutive years. So the most we can trade is 4 FRPs with the 2023/25/27/29 configuration. So the 2024/26/28 route is out.

Next, we know about the 25/25 deferment options that NO holds, so now we got only 3 FRPs we really can turn to (ie 2023/27/29).

Then the 2023 1st can only get moved now if we know for certain that NO will defer their pick option to 2025 leaving our 2024 1st alone. How do we grease NO in doing so? They haven’t used their MLE yet, they’re at 15 on the roster and they are roughly 3.6m away from the tax line. If they can dump Willy’s 2.4m into our Marc TPE, they gain roughly 6m in wiggle before hitting the tax to use roughly the tpMLE amount on an available FA to get back to rostering 15.

Would NO remove that 2024 flex option and just settle on picking our 2025 1st outright, if we help in having Willy’s deal dumped into us?

Let’s say they do, then now we open up the possibility of trading our 2023 1st along with our 27/29 1sts. So now we have 3 FRPs that we can trade right now instead of just 2.

Okay, I lied again…that 2023 1st has a NO swap option, so it counts more like 1/2 a pick…still 2 & 1/2 picks us better than just 2

That's creative, but if I was running the Pelicans, I'd say No. I'd just roll with Hernangomez and wait to see how bad we are in 2024.

Would some combo of our available SRPs (2 2023s, 2024, 2025, 2027, 2028, 2029) get you to say yes? #FreeWilly

And while we’re at it, change the swap options to 2024, so that our 2023 1st can count as a whole pick instead. We want a low 2024 1st anyways…#BronnyAintGoinLottery 😉

Role playing the Pelicans, sure, there would be some price for which I'd be willing to do it. Stepping out of the role, the idea of Rob Pelinka going to the Pelicans and offering draft picks gives me the Willies.
