We all want that.

I don't want Kevin Durant on the Suns. I don't want Kevin Durant on the Celtics.

I care about how the lakers are constructed. If KD bring trades means Russ is gone too and we get Kyrie I’m all for it.

Just to see what KD will do? Interesting.

We should tank. I'm hearing the Clippers will be unbeatable and will win 70 games. No point in trying.

The Clippers are the best team ever constructed in the history of Basketball!! I'm looking forward to how they fail this year.

Sorry, if he a re-post. I didn't see this posted over the past few pages.

Boston Celtics emerge as 'front-runner' to land Kevin Durant after the Brooklyn Nets steep asking price is revealed

Quote:
“Among the executives with whom I spoke, a Boston deal with Jaylen Brown as the centerpiece appears to be the unofficial front-runner here. In general terms, sources say the Nets are using the fact that the Celtics (and perhaps other teams) have made their second-best player available as a baseline of sorts in negotiations. Translation: If you’re still trying to discuss a Durant deal without putting your second-best talent on the table, then just stop wasting everyone’s time and bow out of this race.”

Hey look, a player on the Lakers roster who can actually defend and play in an NBA basketball game. He joins Austin Reaves who was the only one from last season’s roster

After several weeks of no conversations, the New York Knicks and Utah Jazz recently re-engaged in trade talks centered on Donovan Mitchell, sources tell The Athletic.

The Knicks and Jazz had a fresh trade conversation within the past week about potential packages for Mitchell, according to sources. There is no traction between the two teams on a deal, and no Mitchell trade is imminent for the Jazz, sources said. The Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards are also among the teams pursuing Mitchell, those sources said.

With the KD to Boston trade talk picking up steam and Mitchell trade talks getting re-engaged, it’s time for both franchises to pull the trigger.

The reports, for what they are worth, make it sound like no one is close to making a deal right now and no one feels any hurry to make a deal.

The report about Mitchell said nothing is imminent. The report about Boston, for example, didn't suggest a deal between Boston and Brooklyn was "picking up steam."

It just suggested that the Nets was telling teams, "Boston made its second-best player available in a trade, so if you want to get into the mix, you'd better offer your second-best player too." But nothing about the report suggested that the Nets were seriously considering accepting Boston's offer right now.

It might not, but if Mitchell goes to the Knicks perhaps we end up with Randle/Beverly/Bojan

Dude stop always trying to act like your smart, clearly the report from today said that the Celtics offering Jaylen Brown was considered a unanimous front runner, Nets aren’t gonna wait forever and are probably getting tired of the drama, Mitchell might not happen now but there is a good chance he gets traded, these things are calculated.

Fwiw, I can't recall a single report about trade discussions that forecasts "a deal is imminent." Usually it's just teams kicking the tires and then Woj might put out a pre-tweet.l, and within the hour a deal is suddenly done.

1 FRP max then, unless Randle can turn into Draymond, that's another poor fit

This is exactly how people should gather it, usually when it’s leaked that there is trade talks, there is a good chance that Woj or Shams put up a bomb tweet in the next couple of hours.

Unless we are getting picks back instead of giving them out, that is an ugly deal for us.

I don’t think Lakers will have to give up any picks in that deal besides maybe a couple of 2nds.. Seriously do you guys realize that Westbrook has been going on social media and throwing shades at Jeanie Buss.. do you? Well he is, We have to part ways with Westbrook even if you don’t like what’s being offered.

Okay, but you would have said the same thing a month ago. The point of the Amick article was that the Durant trade would probably take a long time to happen, not that the trade talk is picking up steam. I get the impression that Boston may have moved on.

Quote:
In a recent preseason primer, the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach threw plenty of cold water on recent trade rumors surrounding the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets. According to a new report, Brooklyn and Boston are not anywhere close to nearing a deal that would land superstar Kevin Durant in green. This comes following weeks of speculation following multiple, sometimes conflicting reports from national media.

Himmelsbach stated, “there have not even been any real discussions of substance” between the two teams. Previous reporting from other sources suggested Boston and Brooklyn had engaged on some level, though the nature of those talks was unclear.

According to Himmelsbach, however, “there have not even been any real discussions of substance” between the organizations.

https://celticswire.usatoday.com/lists/nba-boston-celtics-no-kd-for-me-plz/

From the Celtic's owner:

Quote:
“We think our roster right now is a strongly contending team,” he explained. “Ime loves the group, Brad loves the group, I love the group. The group is very cohesive.”

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/team-co-owner-wyc-grousbeck-describes-boston-celtics-as-a-strongly-contending-team-with-roster-as-is/ar-AA10JrT8

This doesn't mean that it won't happen. But I've had a feeling for some time that the Celtics talk is more about filling the news void than anything of actual substance. We shall see.

It's scary to think of Kevin Durant replacing Jaylen Brown.

They keep Marcus Smart.
They keep Jayson Tatum.
They keep Robert Williams.

Malcolm Brogdon replaces whatever salary filler sent out.

I don't want to see that.

No other team is offering draft picks. Boston keeps picks to replace lost depth.

Just because of what’s being said now might prevent you from thinking something will happen doesn’t mean something doesn’t change by today or next week or in 3 weeks to get a deal done, GMs always gush about there players when there is trade talks going on, it’s a tradition.

Low-key JTA could be our starting shooting guard.
