I honestly think the Lakers can pull of OG/GTJ.

Russ/2 first rounders/2 second rounders/ Christie/ Lonnie

for

OG/GTJ/Boucher

They already said they wanted 2 seconds and a young player for GTJ

Russ/2 first unprotected for OG.

Boucher for salary purposes

I could definitely see this happening if the Lakers and Raptors were the only two teams in the league.

That's being optimistic.

So funny watching this game and remembering people actually thought Thomas Bryant is basically Myles Turner.

Oh whoops, meant this in the game thread

Brick is 2/16 with 4 TO's and we beat a team with a losing record by the slimmest of margin. We ain't winning the championship with Brick. We need to make better use of his $47M in capspace.

I think the 2 frp's have got to go. This might be our last remaining opportunity in a long time to win a championship so we need to go ALL IN!

Trading him during his lows might be costly though but we've gotta do what we've gotta do. We've got a championship to win. Make it happen, Rob!

GTJ - upgrades the 2, can shoot the 3, good size.

Bojan - pushes Rui to the bench. Dont want.

Myles - pushes Rui to the bench. Dont want.

Hield - upgrades the 2, can shoot the 3 but bad contract, one dimensional.

OG - pushes Rui to the bench but we get a 2 way player here.

Lavine - upgrades the 2 but injury prone, terrible contract.

FVV - upgrades the 1, can shoot the 3 ok.

Derozan - upgrades the 2 but can't shoot the 3, old.

Pushing Rui to the bench for Bojan is not wise. But as a philosophy, and for the right deal, like Myles, I see nothing wrong with letting him be 6th man.

Turner (28), Bryant or Gabriel (14), AD (6)
AD (28), Rui (20)
LeBron (34), Rui (14)

Not exactly a bad situation - especially when you factor in getting rid of the basketball disaster that is Westbrook.

If you can further turn Lonnie and Beverly into Trent Jr, we've got something.

Trent Jr (30), Brown (18)
Dennis (24), Austin (24)

Basically, to win a championship, you just need a healthy AD and Lebron and a bunch of role players not named Westbrick and you're set! EZPZ

That's why I didn't give Rob much credit for the 2020 championship.

Darvin Ham said it was a “no-brainer” to close the game with Russell Westbrook because of Westbrook’s defense, particularly his ability to switch onto bigger players.

I will say he has the sense to use him versus bigs late in games. It’s the start of games where he’s chasing 1/2 that kill you because you get stuff like Brunson and Hali running free to the rim and everyone scrambling. The drop off from his guard defense compared to Pat and Dennis is astounding pressure wise

Did anybody really think that though Myles turner is so much better defensively they’re similar that they can hit outside shots but that’s about it

That won’t be true against the good teams. You can win a lot of games as long as you have a healthy Bron and Davis.

If you have one, you can win games
If you have them both, you can win a lot of games
If you have them both and two or three roll player step up, you’re nearly unstoppable

Westbrook is either taking his value intentionally or this is just who he is. I am willing to take a trade that doesn’t favor the Lakers just to get him the (bleep) off his team he is a momentum killer.

why need a midget to switch on bigger players when you have bigger players who can do that too.

also should have no boneheaded players. remember limiting kuz in the playoffs and mcgee almost didn't play.
