AR: Totally different players, but we’re guys that played on the Lakers, and we’re white. We don’t really look athletic. He’s athletic, but I’m not that athletic. I can see why people do it, but we’re two totally different players.

In that proposed trade Los Angeles would get Tobias Harris, Terry Rozier and Matisse Thybulle; Charlotte would get Westbrook, Jaden Springer, both of L.A.’s remaining first round picks in this decade and two second-rounders; and Philly would get Kelly Oubre Jr., Cody Martin and Beverley.

In the process the Sixers would free up cap space. The Lakers, meanwhile, would dump Westbrook, address their three-point shooting holes and their massive hole at point guard. The Hornets, in the meantime, would receive much-needed draft capital.

What do you guys think?

I honestly think the Lakers can pull of OG/GTJ.

Russ/2 first rounders/2 second rounders/ Christie/ Lonnie

for

OG/GTJ/Boucher

They already said they wanted 2 seconds and a young player for GTJ

Russ/2 first unprotected for OG.

Boucher for salary purposes

I dont see us getting OG when you have multiple teams already in a bidding war for him. Knicks has a ton of picks to offer him and willing to offer 3 FRPs.

"I honestly think" is a term of art here. It means "The psilocybin is telling me."

He could fit into their trade exception.

Most likely Lakers are probably the last option on most of the rumored players were attached to. I don't see any trade happening until the last day unless Lakers over bid. Which is more than unlikely also because we don't have much assets to use.

GTJ
Bojan
Myles
Hield
OG
Lavine
FVV
Derozan

Teams will definitely wait until the last hour and make sure they field the best offer for those guys.

The player who is likely to be a Laker before the Trade deadline from that list is Buddy Hield.. former player agent of Rob Pelinka and the Lakers have been trying to get him for a couple of years now

GTJ - upgrades the 2, can shoot the 3, good size.

Bojan - pushes Rui to the bench. Dont want.

Myles - pushes Rui to the bench. Dont want.

Hield - upgrades the 2, can shoot the 3 but bad contract, one dimensional.

OG - pushes Rui to the bench but we get a 2 way player here.

Lavine - upgrades the 2 but injury prone, terrible contract.

FVV - upgrades the 1, can shoot the 3 ok.

Derozan - upgrades the 2 but can't shoot the 3, old.

I think Rui is it, my friends.
OG? LaVine? DeRozan? GTJ? Bojan?
I just can't see the Lakers pulling off any of these deals for any of these dudes.

At this point I don't really see the Pacers dealing Hield to the Lakers unless it involves a 1st... So it will be an over bid if we do land Hield before the deadline.

If we do land a player before the deadline. It will be for a player not being mentioned heavily with the Lakers. It be similar to the Rui trade. Just kind of under the radar.

Josh Hart would be considered a move under the radar.. the Blazers have made him available in trade talks, also keep a eye on Grayson Allen

It sure if this has already been posted, but Toronto seems to be coming in hot into the final week before the deadline and the Suns are also looking to do something before tradeSZN is a rap….

Teams are coming to them, they’re listening to offers, and with the exception of reigning Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes – who remains off limits in trade discussions – everything is on the table, according to sources. There’s no shortage of options to mull over in the next seven days.

Toronto was close to acquiring Deandre Ayton from Phoenix in a sign and trade last summer, according to a source. Perhaps there’s a deal to be made with the Suns, who are said to be one of Anunoby’s many suitors. Pacers centre Myles Turner – who just signed an extension but is still eligible to be traded – would also check off a few boxes as a shot-blocking, floor-spacing big man. – via Josh Lewenberg @ TSN

If we do get involved and aren’t looking to move our FRPs, I can see the lesser names heading our way like Crowder and TrentJr.

And if a name is at play, it could be CP3, especially if VanVleet is Phx bound.

FYI: Phx does have their own FRPs they can deal and put protections on, as well as the entire tpMLE at their disposal (during buyoutSZN). If Phx’s net return has them shaving ~17m they dip below the tax line, while Toronto currently isn’t a tax payer and has ~5m in wiggle before hitting the tax line.

I was looking at this angle last night and posted about it. Essentially, the Suns get OG, the Raptors get Ayton, and the Suns move on from CP3 and end up with a younger point guard. FVV? Rozier? Russell?

I like both players, sure, but it is impossible for me to answer that question without knowing the complete terms of the trade(s) and who else was attainable.

Both those guys probably cost us 2 FRPs or 1FRP/2 2nds... There will be multiple players involved.

Pat/Walkers/2 2nds for GTJ... Might be protected 1st Lakers price.

Russ/Jones/1st for Poetl/Richardson/McDermott/$14m TPE... But I would try to get more money out of this deal just to get the Lakers under the repeater tax this year.

I would be happy with both deals you project if nothing "better" is out there from my perspective (Kyrie, Turner, OG, for example) and think they would likely be the deal for the incoming players involved if other teams are not involved, but I do not think we would pick up both GTJ and Richardson so I do not think we would do both deals. You did not say that we necessarily would, but I'm just noting that.
