People on here seem to like Jae.
Wondering if FOs agree with me or not regarding a role player asking for a trade.
I'd see if the Suns would take more salary for Kelly Ouvre part deux if I'm MJ.

Nice. Matty Ice hasn't been the same since leaving the Falcons.

These are the best wings available in the league baby!

They don't need another wing. They are reportedly looking for guard help.

Trade request.
Suns want a guard.
Assuming Jae wants to go to a contender.
Let's see who gets what they want.

Role players can demand trades now?

When Lamar Odom demanded a trade after the Chris Paul Veto, it wasn't even a day later he was in Dallas.

They once traded Nash to us, though

I suspect that was driven by their loyalty to Nash. He needed to be in LA because of his divorce or whatever it was. I don't know how much the division rival factor really matters in the NBA. The divisions are a vestige of a time when there were a lot fewer teams and when you played the teams in your division more than just four times. But it does seem to be a factor with the Suns.

The Suns medical team is one of the best in Sports they knew Nash was gonna start piling up injuries they traded him at the right time.

That’s not the way it happened at all.

The Sun were mired in mediocrity. When Nash’s contract ended, he decided to move on.

Nash was deciding between the Knicks and the Lakers. He went with us after Kobe made a big push for him. The Sun agreed to do a sign-and-trade so Nash could go to the team he wanted.

If Nash had wanted to resign with the Sun, they would have resigned him.

The fact that Nash had spondylolisthesis (a degenerative condition of the spike) wasn’t a secret. It was diagnosed when he was in Dallas in 99. He dealt with the condition for a long time. There was no way to predict the injury he suffered in Los Angeles, and no particular reason to think he would suddenly become incapacitated. It was just one of those things. Such is life.

So the only deal that works for Crowder without involving Westbrook is Nunn, Gabriel, and Christie…. That doesn’t seem to be worth it at all.

Lakers get: Crowder, Saric, McDermott, 20 million TPE
Suns get: Richardson, Poeltl
Spurs get: Russ, Nunn, Wenyen, Lakers pick(s) ± Suns pick(s)

The sticking points would be the picks. This is the kind of deal I'd give up both for because it rounds out our lineup nicely. I'm not sure if the teams deem this an upgrade for the Suns in which case they'd need to give up picks.

Spurs just barely get to the salary floor with this deal. For the sake of their books they don't need to but it helps that they get draft compensation without increasing their payroll ultimately for the season.

Suns get guard depth. Question is are they looking to play small ball when Ayton sits or do they prefer a more traditional center? They pursued Javale last summer which suggests the latter. If they want to stick with small-ball it makes more sense to keep Saric whose salary is essentially the same as Poeltl.

Lakers take on McDermott's deal but get out of the luxury tax. Crowder and Saric probably come off the bench but are both potential closers. The TPE can be used to pick up a player midseason or saved for the next summer should we elect to remain as an over-the-cap team.

TB, DJ, Saric
AD, Saric, Crowder
Bron, Crowder, Doug
Reaves, Walker, Brown
Bev, Schro

3 team trade with Hornets? Rozier/Gabriel to Suns, Westbrook to Hornets and Howard/Crowder/Saric to Lakers. Probably a pick or so goes somewhere, gets those wings we need lol.

Only question is rather Crowder tips the balance for the Lakers over the guys you mentioned.

Disagree. Unless the Lakers are very high on Christie, this feels like a no-brainer trade.

Nunn is the only rotation-level player we’d be giving up, and how many minutes will there be for him between Russ, Bev, Dennis and Walker?

He's another six and a half foot "forward" that should not be a focus for a team that already has a thousand of these undersized defenders.

The rumor is they are trading Jae Crowder to pay Cam Johnson. I don't think it has anything to do with Jae's role.

If Jae is traded to Memphis for Danny Green's expiring contract, he wouldn't be in the starting lineup. Grizzlies board wants to trade for Kelly Olynyk instead of Jae Crowder, fwiw.

Crowder is also expiring. We could absorb him for Wenyan in a 3 team trade with Indy.

I just wish Indy gave up on the two 1st round ask.

Indy hasn’t said that they will pull the trigger if the Lakers offer 2 unprotected firsts. It has all just been negotiations.

True. I just wish a 1st, Christie and 1 or 2 second rounders was enough.

I hope they don't think about trading Christie.

Christie is not a win now player. If he can tip the scales on a decent trade you do it.

I would put Reaves in the trade, not Christie.

Trading Nunn for Crowder would mean giving up our only reliable scorer other than LeBron and AD, not to mention a capable ball-handler.

These proposed Crowder trades may give us enough defense to win, but we won't have enough offense, and LeBron would have to do way too much at age 37/38.

Jae Crowder is one of the biggest floppers/cry babies in the league.

The way he manipulates the refs is infuriating and he never shy's away from contact ending in an Oscar Performance or a another player getting right up in his grill.

He is easily another player you hate to go up against but love having him on your side.

Hell we got Pat on our side now might as well go the full monty
An just because Jae didn't work out well with Lebron in Cleveland doesn't mean it would be the same story here in LA.

I'd take Jae and his defensive intensity and spotty three point shooting on our squad in a heartbeat

If the Suns would be willing to give us Jae for Nunn and a couple second rounds we gotta do that asap.

I know Kendrick has alot to prove this upcoming season but I'm okay with letting him go since we already got Dennis and Lonnie who could give the same point production if not more than Nunn.

Don't forget about Schroder. He's been in the high teens scorer for most of his career.

^ Schroder and Walker aren't efficient though and neither is a good 3-point shooter. That's another thing - trading Nunn would mean getting rid of one of our few good 3-point shooters.

Do we know if the Lakers have any interest in pursing him?
