Damian last season played in 56 games @ 18mins per
TB last season played in 27 games @ 16mins per
Great signing, but wildly unreliable to keep AD from playing the 5 during the regular season.
I would hope they bring on 1 more center so they have a platoon of dudes that can hold it down during the regular season.
We clearly love retreads and targeting Boogie would absolutely be on-brand. I would like seeing that type of depth at the 5 if possible. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

Great pickup!! Hang on to him this time! Also, should be a nice hedge if they end up having to hold onto WB - IIRC, WB and Bryant played well together in DC…
what do you guys think rob's apology will be when he sees him? lol
We had to dump his 1.5m caphold for cap space. Danny/Manna wasn’t gonna come cheap! 😜 _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

Hey don't look at me....It was Magic's idea.
Wasn’t dude an absentee exec tho. Probably stayed parked in Bron’s driveway.
Gawd I hate the lazy “it was all Magic” narrative. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

I don't get Lakers fans' fascination with Boogie. He's clearly washed, and he doesn't even fit in with our style of play or what we need at the 5.
Boogie shot just 30.3 percent from downtown in 2022. He hasn't shot at least 35 percent from there since 2018, the year he had his first severe injury.
Since then, he has played just 119 games in four seasons. Besides, he's never been a defensive-minded player to begin with, which is what we need at the 5.
Makes no sense that Lakers fans want that kind of player.
^Need another center tho and only have the vet min to spend.
Clearly worked with AD in NO as well and never got to see it here, so yeah…
I still hope there’s a Myles trade to be had but that Pritchard road bump is hard to ignore. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

Is Boogie even a good defender at this point? Is he willing to focus mostly on defense, rebounding, setting picks and running the floor while not having any offensive plays run for him?
Boogie takes a big chunk of his shots from downtown, which is another concern, because he clearly sucks at hitting such shots.
Why don't we keep Dwight instead? Dwight clearly has something left in the tank, and as a 3rd-string center, he (hopefully) won't need to use him as much.
If we have a championship-caliber roster, I think Dwight will be motivated because iirc he said he wants a championship parade. Plus he's already a fan favorite and he has proven he is willing to keep his ego in check.

We got Damian Jones.
Saw the break downs in my previous post, right?
Damian/TB based off last year are good for 34mins per. If we want to minimize/eliminate AD’s run at the 5 during the regular season, we need one more C to complete our platoon. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

^Works for me, cause all we need is 48mins of non-AD action there during the regular season.
If TB were healthy, we wouldn’t need a platoon, but dude is 27 games in from an ACL. I rather have the insurance than finding out midseason that AD needs to pick up some of the weight there for us. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

Is everyone forgetting this guy had a partially torn ACL and hasn’t played a full season since who knows when. Does any of this sound familiar?
Yeah welcome back but we should have never lost you in the first place…
Sorry I’m somewhat suspect on this signing, it seems premature and reactive we should have waited unless he’ll be included in a trade…
You are suspect on a minimum signing with upside? Lmao
Read it again it has nothing to do with TB, although his injury is questionable… There’s not a lot of upside on an oft injured player who’s coming off an ACL injury. Me being suspect is more about the move overall, if he’s just a minimum signing why now? We can get that anytime, and That’s my point![/]
Actually, no. He was being actively courted by the Raptors, Celtics, Bucks and Jazz. It was a coup to get him and there is probably little chance we could have got him later. He is also simultaneously both the one true big and the best 3-point shooter on a team lacking both size and shooting. We are lucky he agreed to sign with us!

24 - youth is on his side. Career 35% on 3 ptr - huge need. Good size - much needed.
What's to worry about? The Walker signing was/is the issue.
The worry is he can’t stay in the rotation like last year because of defensive issues after the injury comeback. Legit worry. But like you said he’s young. If we can get the pre-injury version back it’s like we had another medium-sized exception we could use this off-season. Hopefully, we get that version as the season goes along.

I watched some highlight videos of Bryant from this past season (after his ACL injury). Seems like he can still jump, dunk, run the floor and block shots. I'm just not sure how often or consistently he will do those things.
Maybe staying healthy is like 80% of the battle for him. Luckily it seems the technology and prognosis for healing from an ACL injury have really improved over the years.
