So Russ + 27/29 1sts, followed by a Russ buyout ain’t gonna cut it.

So where we settling in? Taking on JHarris’s deal as well? Are THT/Nunn win-now players?

So it still appears a 3rd team needs to be involved in some way or another.

In that case,

Send Russ, THT and two firsts to Utah.

Conley, Bogdon, Beasley type deal to Brooklyn.

Kyrie/Harris to LA

Yeah sounds like we need to involve a 3rd team to give what BRK wants, Maybe the Spurs could help facilitate a Irving trade.

None of them are win now. Unless we deal Lebron or AD, we have nothing that Brooklyn wants.

The Nets are being completely unrealistic about what their assets' value is. Kyrie is an expiring contract who few teams want to deal with. You simply aren't gonna get a significant "win now" player for him at this point in time.

The more troubling thing is the Nets seem to be fixated with getting an unrealistic return for both KD and Kyrie. Ultimately it's going to lead to them both being on their roster at the start of the season most likely. KD might hold out and Kyrie will hit Free Agency.

Their current posture is going to lead to them losing Kyrie for nothing and being forced to trade KD or end up with a bad record and no draft picks

The Nets are good if they go into the season with KD and Kyrie, they have all the leverage.

There is no urgency for the Nets until training camp. At that point they will feel pressure to get something done unless Kyrie and KD play good soldier. Kyrie might because he is in a contract year, but KD doesn’t seem down for that.

Might as well just combine these deals.

Lakers get: Kyrie
Pacers get: Russ
Nets get: Hield, Turner

Lakers give up both firsts.

The Lakers GM is dumb AF.

you have the chance to land Irving and you refuse to give up 2 first rounders?

Unless you are a guy in the top 15 you dont even matter most likely.

Irving is a top 10 player when he plays..

russell is a -10 player.

even if it doesnt work out its worth a shot

IF he really had the chance to get KI for the two frps, which I still don't believe because the trade required us sending RW to Brooklyn, and KD ain't playing on the same team as RW again, then he blew it.

That move would have solved almost all of our chemistry issues simply because of how superior KI is to RW in practically every aspect of the game. It was very clear to me from the beginning that two frps were the minimum to start with if we really wanted KI.

It was clear because I'm looking at it from Brooklyn's pov, not my team. I'm sending you a problem solver while getting rid of the problem at the same time? That's two prime reasons Pelinka. You blew it Pelinka if you had a real chance to get the guy.

He didn't. Nets don't move according to the Lakers' timeline.

Once Kyrie opted in, he was no longer problem #1 for the Nets. KD is the 5 alarm fire and they'll deal with Kyrie once they've handled KD.

I think everyone can agree this was just speculation. Nothing in the way the rumors have been laid out and the subsequent actions by the Nets lead us to believe otherwise.

There is part of me however, that the Nets would be willing to move off Kyrie if the return if making them a better "team" IOW, there talented return would allow them to slot players, even current players, in better situations for their success.

So what’s the narrative these days…cause if it’s KD demanding a trade to get away from Ky, that’s 🧢

It’s Funny How Everybody Shocked that Kevin Durant & Kyrie Irving working out together 😂 like they was at war or something. This not their first workout together this summer. Also It’s The Organization that they been having problems with not each other.

Imho once BK relents on giving Ky a bag, this all ends…till then, “buckle up” for a whole lot of posturing

Btw, Ky can’t even threaten to walk into our cap space next year since Bron’s extension will only leave about 20m (or 30m w/a THT opt out) in cap space. Ky’s max as a 35% eligible player is around 47m…so that’s quite the haircut he wound have to receive if he walks into our space next summer.

Not much chance they will get it though. The Lakers crap offer is the best offer they've received. They are in denial right now with both Kyrie and KD.

They want to contend next year with or without Irving and KD.

And lose him for far less before or after the deadline unless they give him what he wants…a multi-year deal with no stipulations.

There isn’t much less than Westbrook and two picks over half a decade in advance. They traded their first round pick for O’Neal, they are gunning for the EC title. Westbrook or future picks don’t help them with that.

This is a bit of an aside from the main topic, but IMO all of these teams demanding 2 FRP to trade for Westbrook are on crack. Under no circumstances am I sending Indiana two first round picks so they can shed 11M in salary plus whatever they could save in a potential Westbrook buyout. Not to mention the financial impact to my organization is at least double that considering the luxury tax implications.

I'd do it for Kyrie, but for a couple of non-all star players? Get wrecked, Indiana.

Fair enough, I would agree with you. But those teams would just tell the Lakers to enjoy Westbrook, it isn’t him they are after.
