Yeah, that's not good, but we badly need what he brings in the areas of athleticism, youth, speed, and shooting, although I sense he made be a bit streaky.

He reminds me of Christian Eyenga. He will be ready to run with whoever is pushing the ball.

He is streaky for sure.
Cole swider was our leading rebounder with 6, AD only had 3, so I don’t know I’d use rebound numbers to judge him

Judging guards based on rebounds is wild.
Is this Russell Westbrook metrics?

Lonnie is just a better version of KCP. He fits in really nicely in that starting lineup imo.

Pat Bev
Kendrick Nunn
Lonnie Walker
LBJ
AD

would be my starting 5

Super small team but fits the 4 out 1 in offense and you surround LBJ/AD with a bunch of scrappy dudes on defensive end who can also hit the open 3 and create.

Lineup would need adjustments against long wingplayers like KD/Kawhi/PG etc but lakers are lacking in that department anyways and don't have a legit 3 man on the roster as it is. I think Lonnie for the most part can make up for this with his scrapiness and effort, but it would have to be a team effort to really contain the bigger wings. The roster is flawed but you have to turn lemons into lemonade

How did anyone complain about this signing? This dude is playing his ass off on defense and can make 3’s, it’s awesome that I was probably 1 of the few who was supporting the signing and he is gonna get even more better as the games go on.

I hope you are right, but let's not stick your chest out just yet. He has played 2 games, and has looked good for a half in one game.

He was groomed by a great coach in SA but was stuck in a rebuilding situation, he has more reasons to blow up in a more winning environment.

They’ve been trying for the better part of 2022.

Yeah, assets management, for once our GM is playing responsible but this roster is not balanced, need the fix, give up the picks

You not only give up the picks but you hamstring yourself next offseason.

That’s the question, if the long term salary coming back still let FO be under tax next season and it makes us a contender this season, give up both picks

The warning on Lonnie is he will have great games and then follow them up with hair pulling mistake games. Let’s see him build some consistency.

Lonnie and Pat Bev, looks like the Lakers got some dogs on defense.

Yea I mean I expect it for his shooting: even great 3ball shooters like old friend JR Smith and to a lesser degree KCP could be infamously hot and cold. I fully expect Lonnie's shooting to be on and off. What I do expect him to do is live up to his words and be an absolute dog on defense - this is one thing KCP/Eddie Jones were always consistent at - bringing up these 2 specifically as former Lakers who always bought it on D despite their mild personalities utilizing their athleticism and quickness - similar to Lonnie.

Lonnie (and us fans) can only dream that he could be as good as KCP on both sides of the ball.

Give Walker a chance, KCP also arrived as a 23 year old from a bad team and grew into a championship level role player here

The KCP comp is interesting and probably the best case scenario for Walker. It would require him to really defend in a way he never has and the 3pt shooting to go up (KCP’s 3p% in his LA years: 38, 35, 39, 41). It’s possible, but we’ll see.

They both shot similar percentage on similar attempts in the 2 seasons prior tp moving to LA. KCPs percentage went up the last 2 seasons here but it was on less attempts (better looks?) so lets see how Walker adjusts to such a role next to ball dominant guys
