Which one is the better option? Yes, I know that Kyrie is the better player right now but, what if we can get Wall for the minimum. That way, we will still have the mid level to give to Monk.

We haven't seen Wall play in years. I'd say take both!

But if Kyrie is available at the MMLE, you take that in a heartbeat.

If Wall is bought out I donโ€™t know why anyone would assume he could be had for the minimum.

If we have to pick? Kyrie at $30m or less is a no brainer, Wall or no Wall

Kyrie. Wall might be done after the Achilles tear.

Kyrie all the way.

Monk is easily replaceable. He only plays on 1 end of the court.

Yep. Even knowing that thereโ€™s a 50/50 shot of Irving melting down, itโ€™s too much potential value to pass on if heโ€™s crazy enough to do it. Iโ€™d take Wall on the min if we donโ€™t get Irving and we move WB for something.

If he's as "done" as Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant were after their achilles injuries, then he's probably worth taking a chance on.

I don't see John Wall joining the Lakers, unless he has a more prominent role. If there is a possibility of him coming off the bench, I don't see him joining.

Kyrie is the perfect pg for AD and LeBron. I can't think of a better fit for a 3rd guy than Kyrie outside of Steph.

Wall is essentially Russ with a bit more passing ability but less availability. Chemistry and fresh start sure but the talent upgrade isn't major at all.

Put Kyrie at the SG position, and utlize Wall as your PG. I trust his shooting stroke much more than RW

He's about 38% on c&s 3 when he played the last few years.
34% when taking wide open 3s in general so not great.
So I guess better than WB. His non c&s 3s drop his career 3s to on level with WB.

If he sticks to c&s, he should be fine.

Kyrie we know he fits with Lebron, no telling on Wall. He is a little less of WB and a little more of Kyrie, but not enough to believe it will work.

Wall be Kyrie back up
Bron is the PG
Put a solid 6โ€™7โ€ 3&D
AD the stretch big
Thomas Bryant/DeMarcus/Mo Bamba the stretch banger

you think Thomas Bryant is Vet Min now?
i doubt Wall would agree to come off the bench. he isn't much of a player anyways, i don't care either way, but starting him is a non starter.

This is all highly theoretical, since it's based on the assumption that the Rockets will buy Wall out and Irving will give up tons of money, become a free agent, and sign for a lesser amount.

The second point seems unlikely to me. I think Irving will opt in and/or try to work out a sign-and-trade that preserves his high salary.

If Wall accepts a buyout, there will be a lot of competition for him. It's not a given we'll have a shot at him.

Who would be better? Who knows? Irving is a head case who can derail a team; Wall may not be able to play anymore. Choose whichever roll of the dice you want to make, if the dice are ever handed to us.

I don't understand why some Lakers fans want Wall, even if it's at a low price.

His 2021 numbers: 40.4 percent overall, 31.7 percent from downtown and 50.3 TS%.

Even Westbrook had a higher TS% at 51.2 this season.

I get Wall doesn't take shortcuts defensively and is a little less turnover-prone, but we need accurate shooting from our guards, and Wall won't give it to us, plus is he really that good a defender after tearing his Achilles?
