I have it in the menu on my IPTV. It's bootleg and doesn't have a quality picture or sound. It'll be a week maybe less before 4K and Dolby kick in. Looking forward to seeing the Mission Impossible star again. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I'll wait out Memorial Day weekend. I almost never go to the theaters these days but I'm making an exception for Tom. _________________ KOBE |

What's the difference between 2d and 3d Imax for movies that aren't 3d specific (Avatar etc). Closest one to me is 2d and yeah, I really, REALLY don't want to drive far. _________________ KOBE |

When I think of IMAX I think of those giant screens and visions of the movie being filmed in 70mm. I think years ago they dumbed down the IMAX format so that any movie theatre could label it as IMAX if they met the bare minimum. The real IMAX screens are few and far between, theres Edwards Ontario, Edwards Irvine and Universal City AMC for those in Socal area. |

Glenn Powell is a star. That guy should be in every non-superhero movie.
The kind of giant cheeseball action blockbuster only Hollywood can deliver. Loved the beautiful Val cameo and the last 40 minutes are awesome.
And thank you, Tom Cruise, for keeping insane practical effects alive with your death-defying stunts. I look forward to you riding a motorcycle off a cliff in the next M:I movie. _________________ Under New Management |

Unintentionally funny bits:
1) Every time Jennifer Connelly walks into TG:M off the set of the smart water commercial she's shooting on the side just to have powerful platonic friendship vibes with Cruise.
2) The one Asian-American pilot in the crew has the call sign "Yale." _________________ Under New Management |

For this movie, I think Top Gun was edited for the fake IMAX screen size so even if you go to the real imax, the picture will be cropped on the top and bottom. True IMAX is a 1.43 aspect ratio and lie-MAX is 1.90. Top Gun imax version is listed as 1.90 |

Quote: | Top Gun: Maverick more than delivered when flying into theaters over the long Memorial Day weekend, earning a massive $160.5 million to secure the biggest opening of all time for the holiday, not adjusted for inflation. And it was easily the biggest opening ever for Cruise |

It’s a good, in the theater watch despite the over the top inconceivability of it all. Claudio Miranda’s work made even the basic narrative shots gorgeous. And I’ll never get tired of seeing Jennifer Connolly on screen, especially since she gets more beautiful as time goes by.
Personally, my favorite part was seeing Monica Barbaro (call sign “Phoenix”) in such a huge blockbuster. She was one of the leads on a TV show I edited and she was my favorite actor to cut because she’s just so solid and nuanced. A truly talented actor and I so glad she got to do a badass role in a huge flick. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

It was incredibly, beautifully, viscerally shot. A great popcorn movie. And Cruise remains a cyborg. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |
