This is somewhat Laker related. KAT and AD are similarly built, their games are very much alike. But one started slow and trending up, and the other one is doing the opposite. It is Laker related because the way KAT is playing now is what laker fans are expecting out of AD, outside of that couple months in the Bubble he has not delivered.

I think KAT has more bulk, and is used to playing inside; while AD is much more quick and versatile on defense, especially the perimeter. KAT's 3 point shooting is also much better and his scoring instincts. IMO, they would make a devastating tandem if it were to happen.

AD never work on his body during off seasons, even during those long off seasons with Pelicans. Thats why he’s still fragile, gets pushed around easily. That’s inexcusable. KG was also skinny and tall but that dude was a force inside while also quick and agile on the perimeter. Lakers mortgaged their future on the wrong star.

If the goal was to win a championship, they got the right guy.

Not sure KAT would have been it for the 2020 title as he could not play the same level of versatile defense that AD did that year.

But going forward, totally fair to say KAT will likely surpass him as an overall player. But I would be really happy if we could pair these two together as I think they fill each other's gaps quite nicely.

How do you know that? This is pure BS.

Imagine the perfect "puzzle team" where all the players complement each other

PG: Lonzo
SG: D'Angelo Russell
SF: Lebron
PF: AD
C: Towns

Ok time to load up 2k

AD for Towns straight up, who says no? Wolves get someone to anchor their defense and Lakers get a #1 guy on offense.

Right now? Wolves say no.

I'm trying to pair the two of them down the road...

AD will be 31-32 by the time we can pair them.

They are in the rebuilding phase right now, but one thing I'll always admire about that org is how they won 50+ games a season for nearly 2 decades straight (1999-2019). When Pop retires, it will truly be the end of an era. No other franchise has sustained that level of winning for that long. They are the model of longevity the same way Lebron is as a player. They would still be relevant if Kawhi didn't ditch them.

Yeah, I def. would rather not see this in the Laker forum personally.. I couldn't care less if KAT scored 60 10 straight games.. Good for him but zero to do with the Lakers. Are we gonna do threads for Luca next because his game is a lot like Bron's?

Easily the Wolves. I wonder how close Towns is to DLO? I doubt that DeAngelo is selling the Lakers as a positive move. Same with Booker, when players are close it is bad business to piss one of them off.

Unbelievable consistency, no doubt. Won titles in the 90’s, 2000’s and 2010’s. Doesn’t get more consistent then that.

KAT is a free agent after next season.

And anyway what the heck would be bad about a 30-31 year old Anthony Davis paired with a 28 year old KAT?

neither is a #1. Trade AD for Anthony edwards +, then hope Kat wants to come here.

You think Anthony Davis isn't a #1, yet in the same statement you somehow think Anthony Edwards in a season and a half has proven he is?

Ah... now I see who wrote this.
