Well, not really. Ukraine got a lot of weapons and now Finland is stupid enough to want to be part of Nato. Sweden unfortunately as well.

With a MONSTER like Russia as your neighbor what would you do

Read up on Russificaton
Look at Kherson..
Removed Ukranians from their homes
Put Russians in their homes and businesses
Moved the Ukranians to Russian land and are forcing them into work camps and reeducation camps.
Along with the rapes and civilian murders

Security Service of Ukraine: Russia sends experienced torturers to quell riots in the military

Quote:
In order to suppress revolts in the military, the Russian command is sending "experienced torturers" to humiliate soldiers who refuse to fight the Ukrainians, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported on Thursday. New telephone calls that the SBU managed to intercept are supposed to prove it. In the above-mentioned conversation with his father, the soldier reports: "Muradov (a general known for his cruelty during the Russian intervention in Syria) arrived, who ... he did a show trial because no one wanted to go further".

(Watch CNN's exclusive report on Russian general who oversaw atrocities)

Quote:
The US and international community has accused Russia of war crimes in Ukraine as Russian artillery has devastated Ukrainian cities and lives. But it has been difficult to associate specific generals to specific crimes, the key to actually carrying out war crimes prosecutions. In Kharkiv, CNN has seen the aftermath of attacks targeting civilians using indiscriminate cluster munitions -- a war crime. In a two-month-long investigation, CNN can reveal the commander responsible for these attacks. CNN's Nima Elbagir reports.

Russia is a threat to the whole world
They have zero political clout left
Who listens to rapists and child killers
(bleep) the whole nation
What a horrible timeline of life
Why should Russia be treated any differently than North Korea

Edit> This war is just tooooo real.. The Internet and social media have made the hell of war instantly available for all to see and read

I am reacting to it in a way I do not prefer.
I hope the war stops and Putin is tried and war tribunals are set up
and the Russian Citizens can attempt to rebuild their government
minus the corruption Putin and Trump and others love so much

The Russians have been trying to push forward as far as possible, but now look to be trying to cover their flanks for the expected Ukranian summer counterattack.

(Russian ‘Preemptive Strike’ Not Likely ‘Before Finland Is Formally Within NATO’: Gen. Petraeus)

Quote:
Former CIA Director General David Petraeus joins Andrea Mitchell to assess whether Finland joining NATO will provoke Russian escalation. “It will be provocative. The question is what real options does Russia have? The last thing they need is to open up another military front. They can't even deal with the one fully that they've established with the invasion of Ukraine.” He says “they’re going to cut off the electricity that Russia flows into Finland,” but “I don't think you're going to see some kind of preemptive strike before Finland is formally within NATO.”

Why does Russia cause people to join NATO?

How about we force Russia to do some self reflection?

They are dealing with a "leader" who looks terminally ill and probably doesn't care if he commits a couple more atrocities. They are thinking its better to have the full backing of NATO than going at it alone.

Especially since the rest of the Russian government is all in as well . . . at least thus far.

Baffles me why anyone would call such a move "stupid" and "unfortunate" . . .

Booby was a clumsy bird easy to catch. The word booby also means boob or fool and has for a long time.

Extra fun fact: the word sharpshooter comes from the Civil War. Derived from the Sharps rifle or carbine, an accurate weapon. The weapon LeBoeuf carried and extolled in True Grit. They were in short supply during the Civil War and thus were often given to the most talented shooters who then acted as skirmishers with some degree of autonomy to go out ahead and pluck off Reb leaders, which is something akin to a sniper today. The designer's name was Christian Sharps. The term was Sharps shooters and got transmogrified into sharpshooter over time. Otherwise the word "sharp" wouldn't be used in shooting contexts today.

Thank you Sir.. I like the last one and never would've thought it was anything other than quality or sharp as a knife shooter

I thought booby trap might be like when get caught catching some side boob action and miss what happens in front of you BAM

Ukraine: The spy war within the war

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-61311026

Quote:
When Russia first targeted its military forces on Ukraine in 2014 it also unleashed its intelligence services on the West - from interfering with the US elections using cyber attacks to poisonings and sabotage in Europe.

But in recent months the spy war has intensified as Western countries have sought to hit back and inflict lasting damage on the ability of Russian intelligence to carry out covert operations. This is symbolised by the unprecedented expulsion of 500 Russian officials from Western capitals.

That has to be interesting when Russia is listing some of those troops as missing or deserters.
