Some of us said it when it happened, and the Westbrook trade has been trying to put a square peg in a round hole from the get go.
It doesn't really matter if he refrains from shooting the 3 ball (which he sucks at), gets his near triple double each game and manages to limit his turnovers...the simple fact is he cannot guard and does not fit this system at all because of his inability to defend AND his lack of shooting.....period.
I don't know how far down they are going to be once we (will we ever?) get Nunn finally on the floor and get AD back, but even then drastic changes need to be made.
I dont understand the two guard lineup with Westbrook at all. I get it that Bradley is one of your few decent defenders, but even he looks slow most of the time. I thought we might have had something with Monk, but he has cooled off now too.
THT can't shoot and has trouble defending and I never thought we would be so dependent on Carmelo's scoring, but man did we miss it tonight.
Personally, if and when AD and Nunn are back; a drastic decision needs to be made with RW- and I mean a coming off the bench MINIMUM decision. He just doesn't fit...period.
I would go with these 5 as starters:
PF Anthony Davis
SF Stanley Johnson
C LeBron James
SG Malik Monk
PG Kendrick Nunn
AD/LeBron getting the majority of minutes at C. Ariza can also add length if need be instead of Johnson, but I like the later because of his youth
Have Carmelo and Russell try to work on something with Reeves and whomever as the second unit...
Lakers need to move on from THT before his trade value plummets and get some defensive length and shooting...
Sometimes you have to admit something isn't working and do something drastic.....and after tonight's embarrassment and dropping back under .500- that time is now.. |

you don't bench RW, you trade him or reduce his minutes (i think vogel tried tonight), and it worked even worse because we got blown in the first half. if this game showed anything, it's that we can hate RW all we want, the team has many more issues than him. |

If we cant get rid of WB blow it up. Even with WB gone this team is cooked. We gave away everything for nothing. Bunch of idiots in the FO ruining this team probably setting it back a decade with the trades made.
I (bleep) hate Rob. I hate Westbrook and overall loathe this team.
No character no identity. We lost by 30 against a decent nuggets squad. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!
Blow it up. Trade everyone for picks and whatever else we can get. Im over this experiment. |

Watching some of the replays, the defense lebron played this game was basically given up. |

Well if he did not understand that he doesn't know jack (bleep) constructing a roster. I guess this will wake him up
No (bleep) defense gets harder when every defensive player gets traded.
Wtf were these guys thinking man. I'd love to be a fly during these conversations.
Pelinka-AD-Lebron just blew up the reactor with how the off season went lol. |

I willing to bet a huge reason why this team gives no effort/low morale is because they know no matter how good they play, they can count on this guy to bungle the game away with his airballs, missed layups and turnovers. Guarantee if this guy misses a game or two we will win them. |

Today’s game went south during the time Westbrook is on the bench, it just shows you we suck either way |

I believe he knows how to construct a roster, but the WB trade ruined all that. To be honest, we probably have similar records with Buddy if AD is hurt.
Either way, I respect him as the goat, but if he created this mess, he should be the last one to quit like that. He didn’t even bother to guard Jeff green. |

Yeah Russ had a few bone headed plays but he was fine overall. Huge improvement over the last several games. |
Pan I think your definition of fine and my definition of fine are totally different Westbrook is killing this team both with his play and his salary and his attitude |

Time to stop blaming Brody for the team's failure. I blame management.
I'll admit to thinking, like many knowledgeable basketball experts, this was a team that would go to the finals. How many here thought the same? If I were a betting man I bet a lot.
They and I were wrong. It looks like we may be a lotto team. Do we have any 1st round picks? _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I wonder how LeBron would feel going back to either Miami or Cleveland? |
Why would James want to go anywhere? Man has the cushiest job in the NBA.
He is the leader of the coveted Laker franchise but is never held accountable for anything including losses. He gets to chase personal records as the team he used to his massive influence to create underachieves.
He is content. And it shows. |
There's no way LeBron is content with this situation. |

There were a lot of instances last night where Lebron hung his head between plays and then skipped speaking to the media. I strongly disagree with those who think that winning isn’t his first focus. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |
