I dont expect anything big this deadline or offseason (outside of a THT trade, MLE signing and vet mins).

But come Summer 2023 when Bron, THT and everyone not named AD is off the books.

Who are we targeting?

We still wont really have trade assets so it'll be FA for us.

• James Harden (might extend before then prob)
• Brad Beal (might extend before then prob)
• Kyrie Irving
• Nikola Jokic --> i dont see him leaving
• Khris Middleton --> i dont see him leaving
• Fred VanVleet
• Myles Turner
• Bogdan Bogdanovic
• Gary Trent Jr
• Christian Wood
• Kyle Kuzma
• Josh Hart

Or are we punting 2023 to Summer 2024 with Paul George, Dame, Kawhi, Siakam, Jrue, CJ McCollum, Klay, KAT, D-Book?

Jokic is the obvious answer here but I don't see him leaving and none of the rest of those guys excite me. I would say you wait til 2024 if Jokic re-ups and go for Booker and Towns to pair with AD. Meh.

Agree. You probably try to punt. Though interesting how that will work out with Bron.

I could see Bron re-upping for 1-2 years at a less than max but only if we're signing a third star type.

we dont need another star unless its in return for AD.

Myles would be ideal
Grant would be excellent
Covington wouldn't be bad

THT, reaves, Nunn plus exception are a decent package.

Does this mean DLO coming back too?

DLO
Booker
Towns
AD
D’Andre Jordan

Too far away to guess. A lot can happen between now and then that would make any guesses today moot.

i think Lebron plays another year because he will likely be short of the record after next season, and with the way he is playing now, it's hard to see him retire before the record. if i am lebron, i'd go for that record because that one will likely stay for a long long time. career 27PPg and 20 seasons will be almost impossible to beat.
not sure what salary is he looking for, maybe we can go for one max in 2023 or 2 mid tier FAs. Beal would obviously be top of the list.

I could see Jokic leaving. Denver is not going to build a contender around him, and they've failed repeatedly. At a certain point, that much losing year-in, year-out wears on a man. There's only so many times you can lose wearing the same jersey. Only so many times you can get yelled at by Mike Malone. Only so many times you can look around you and realize the best they could do is give you an injured Michael Porter Jr and the oft-injured Jamal Murray.

Besides, we have a tradition of big men. Not that this would sway Jokic, per se, but it may sway Jeanie -- who is obsessed with tradition -- to make a very big push for Jokic.

Finally, Jokic and AD would be the perfect modern front court. AD finally has the big boned center he's always wanted, and Jokic has a surefire defensive stud backing his mistakes. We'd control the boards, have spacing, and one of the best passing big man in league history playing alongside one of the best finishing big men in league history. Jokic would likely be interested in playing alongside him --- since, as far as ego's go and those considerations, Jokic would remain a proper top dog, and AD can rest easy knowing he has another, greater star to absorb pressure. (Jokic, as we've seen, has no problem being a top player on a competitive playoff squad.)

Of course, it would come down to what we can build around them. And it would place a LOT of pressure on our third best player, who would HAVE to be our main ball-handler/perimeter initiator. Could that be a reduced LeBron on reduced salary? (Hard to see.... but, we saw how effective he was with Marc -- imagine his genius complementing Jokic, and vice-versa.)

None of the above except KAT, Myles Turner. or Jokic.

But neither is coming here without AD.

I wonder how long it'd take the Lakers fandom to have a collective meltdown after watching Ben Simmons play first hand and what his idea of offense is.

Soon for sure but from a defensive standpoint he would greatly improve an improving team.
I am not blaming 76ers.. but I do think the character on our team could help him a bit.

Plus there is a good chance that Lebron and Westbrook could still be here.

it'll be too good to be true. an often-injured soft big man near 30 for a 23 year old budding super star with clutch gene? would I? of course i would.
