I guess I’m glad it’s getting noticed. Maybe he will really focus on that, or at the very least avoid shooting threes and long Js. Feels like wasted possessions when he settles.

From statmuse

Anthony Davis this season:

16.7% on threes — worst in NBA history by any player with 2+ attempts per game and 20+ games played.

38.3% on midrange — worst in the NBA by any player with 100+ attempts.

33.1% on jumpshots — worst in the NBA by any player with 150+ attempts.

I don’t get why he doesn’t just post up everyone in the league and drop step or guys throw lobs to him.
This shooting outside crap is getting old.
Hate watching bugs just shoot outside. Nowitski was an exception but he did other things well.

Davis has gotten scared, lazy or both.
Maybe he’s not 100% and is keeping that a secret. I know he wants to show Lakers fans that he can play the whole season and so far he has missed one game.

Not sure…

But, with that said, some of the crap with this team is also on Lebron. He missed a lot, yes, but his chucking up 3’s yesterday was pure hero ball crap.
Westbrook, has been the most consistent player thus far….

He can’t just pose up every position, his game was valuable because he could make that mid range jumper if you don’t play up on him. He has to mix it up, but taking 3s is another issue, he should stop with the 3 until he gets his Mid range back

AD added more muscle....... just so he can take 20 foot fade away jump shots.

I have been saying for some time now that his shot selection needs to improve. He takes way too many long contested 2's and not even always at the end of the shot clock.

Stop settling, start dominating.

It's always felt like...whenever AD or Russ take jumpers, it's like a victory for the other team. The data makes sense, and is not surprising.

AD is being asked to be more of a jump shooter as well by Vogel.

However consider this.

AD is averaging 24/10/3 while shooting 51.8% from the Field. His field goal percentage on 24 PPG is 51.8% while being the worst jump shooter in the NBA. That means he's EXTREMELY efficient down low and in the post.

That kind of stuff matters. It makes you wonder what his efficiency would be if he wasn't asked to take more threes and jump shots by Vogel.

Also for the record, AD is shooting his highest efficiency from 2 this season than he has in his entire career.

He is shooting 55.9% from inside the 3 point line this year. His most efficient year prior to this was 55.8% in 2017.

So basically that means... AD is currently having one of the most efficient seasons of his career... and if he wasn't asked to be more of a jump shooter and take more threes by Vogel it'd be THAT much better.

AD is also averaging 2.3 blocks and 1.3 steals a game on top of that.

Just wanted to make that clear to all of you that want to scream "ship him out!!" and ignoring the actual season he's had thus far.
