Are the Lakers allowed to pick up a coach who is jobless right now? I thought you can only have interim coaches when a coach gets fired? |

Sure bring in the coach that ruined Kobe's career... That will sure go well with old LeBron and his groin issues... |

MDA is a consultant for NO.
Phil Handy would be the choice for me as I think players GREATLY respect him but Vogel isn't the full problem here. This |

Mike D’Antoni is one of the greatest offensive minds ever
The Lakers put a center on Russ in the playoffs and told him to not bother guarding him and it completely shut out MDA's offense the Rockets were using.
The Lakers then proceeded to trade for Russ a year later.
Unbelievable. And now D'Antoni is an option to replace Vogel. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Confusing title….Allen Iverson is the Answer. If you are asking what the answer is for the Lakers’ woes, there is no answer. Season is lost _________________ Billions Billions Billions |

MDA and Phil Jackson are 70 and 76 respectively. I think MDA had a knee or hip replacement a few years ago as well. Further, they are in the high risk demographic for Covid-19, so it's probably a safe bet they will not be coaching again. I do feel they were trend setters (triangle offense, run and gun, etc) and part of the golden era of the NBA.
Coaching hires are much different than they used to be. Less about Xs and Os and more about player-centric hires (see Billips, Green, Kidd, etc).
Lue would have been great for the team IMO. |

I wouldn’t mind seeing Mike D with Lebron and AD. We have sole offensive talent on this team and can’t seem to make it mesh. Can’t remember the last time we had a shooter like melo come off the bench. _________________ “like I never left”

Vogel about to be the scapegoat and the fall guy for the trash roster this has turned out to be and he's not the one to put it together.
That would be Rob and LeBron.
Russ who does not fit AT ALL, a bunch of players who cant defend worth a damn, absolutely NO wing players & a bunch of 6'3/6'4 guards who cant shoot or defend.
This roster is so flawed its comical & people are pointing the finger at Vogel. _________________ Everyting negative - pressure, challenges - is all an opportunity for me to rise.

MDA would be nice... but what I'd really like to happen is go as far as promote Lebron to playing coach.
He's a basketball savant, I'd love to see him be the Lakers' own Bill Russell before he retires.
Lebron coaching would be interesting.. Who knows, the Lakers maybe gonna sign Bronny... Lebron gets to coach his own son. Not so sure if we'd be contenders for a few years, but if Bronny is as good as Lebron, Lakers will be contending in no time. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. Bronny is no Lebron. He'd end up in South Bay before he gets to LA! |

MDA's run n' gun is the answer if you want to see the wheels
of our old timers fall off sooner...
This, aside from the fact that MDA has won nothing of value as a
head coach. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

I can't really figure out if I should take that question serious.
Leave Vogel alone and let him do his job. |

Neither did Vogel, till he did.
Anyway, one thing MDA would be able to establish is one thing Vogel can't..
Roles. And having an actual offensive identity.
Now the players that would benefit from D'Antoni's offense?
Russell Westbrook
Malik Monk
Carmelo Anthony (role wouldn't be different than what he does now)
Austin Reaves
Wayne Ellington
Rajon Rondo
LeBron James (point forward role)
Dwight Howard (as he finally listens now)
Kent Bazemore
Jay Huff (7 foot stretch 5)
Avery Bradley
Players that wouldn't benefit from D'Antoni's offense
Anthony Davis (can't shoot threes, and struggling in the high screen and roll this year) (majority of it depends if AD would buy into just being a pick and roll threat and not a three point shooter).
Talen Horton Tucker (only has one strength offensively)
Doesn't matter one way or another
Deandre Jordan

If MDA is the answer, you’re asking the wrong question.
The answer is getting a more robust, qualified & deserving leadership within our bball ops ranks.
Like Magic before them, Rob/Kurt ain’t it! A bastardized COVID season resulting in Bron have more time with his Calm app (which is the #1 sleep & meditation app in the Apple store), saved their jobs from being more scrutinized earlier. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

I actually think he takes over things, if Vogel gets fired. It seems he is getting groomed to be coach. I don't think he runs a good offense or even good defense though. He would need great assistants, but he may be good as a vocal leader and the technical skill aspect. If he did layup and passing drills to start every practice, I would root for him. |

Even if he was the answer, he won’t come back cheap after how we treated him in his last stint here.
