No way in hell we are beating Suns/GSW. Moves need to be made this trade deadline. We need to do everything possible to get Jerami Grant to the Lakers. I think with Grant we would be amazing. Get rid of: Kent/THT/DAJ at this point they are just dead weight for us. Pray Kevin Love gets bought out and comes to his boy LeBron on a buyout. Bring in some youth.

Bring Stanley mainly for defense from the G League

Sign Bismack for a backup or pray Damian Jones gets bought out

If Cavs decide to buyout Love lets pray we can pick him up

Grant can guard the 2-4 great at switching on defense the question is will Piston let go of him to get younger?

Russ/Nunn/Rondo
Wayne/Monk/Reaves
Grant/Stanley/Ariza
LeBron/Melo/Love
AD/Dwight/Bismack

Seriously, this can’t go to free agent thread? Like another pipe dream without even matching the salary. How do you get grant?

It's premature to make a judgement until Ariza and Nunn are able to play with the team for a while.

Detroit is rebuilding, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Grant traded but would be surprised if a couple of picks weren’t sent Detroit’s way. We lack that trade ammo.

Way too soon to be throwing in the towel. Lets just get 10 straight games of our best player playing. And then take it from there.

I'd give it a month or two. Too early to tell, although it's not a promising sign that they cannot defend. Personally, I think the Suns/Warriors/Jazz/Nuggets will be the top dogs. Lakers will need lucky breaks to go their way.

There are a million posts just like this in the general free agent/trade section where people spout out different ideas for trades (including a ton of "Let's trade for Jerami Grant" and "Let's hope Kevin Hope gets bought out.")

That section is where this post should go. There's absolutely no need for this to be its own thread.

Ehh, the league is WIDE open this year. Even with the Lakers struggling to beat lottery teams every night, there are tons of question marks about the rest of the teams in the league too. There are so many injuries out there.

The Warriors seem like they might be the best team but their best players always struggle against the Lakers. As long as they win enough to get an 8th seed, the Lakers have as much of a chance as any other team.

WAY too soon to give up on a season that's only 25% over. I remember the Heat being pretty bad in the beginning as well.

But even the Heat started to roll after their 9-8 start.

We still look terrible after the clippers game.

Find any blackmail from the Pacers so they can trade us Levert & Sabonis for Westbrook & THT.

PG: BRON
SG: BRADLEY OR MONK
SF: LEVERT
PF: DAVIS
C: SABONIS

Everyone talks about that 9-8 lol. BUT DID THEY WIN THE SHIP? NO. So if 9-8 and reaching the finals and losing the championship is a success season, then good for them! But with the way this roster is constructed... it's a ring or bust this season. 12-12 ain't cutting it. It's been 24 games so far and NO signs of Lakers rolling after 17 games like the Heatles. Difference is with that team, LEBRON was in his absolute PRIME. I repeat, his absolute PRIME. LeBron is turning 37 in a few weeks. That's the BIG difference between that 9-8 team and this 12-12 team. Prime Bron vs a 37 year old bron. Still good player but not PRIME GOAT BRON at age 26 years old that plays offense/defense at a MVP level for 48 minutes.

Exactly

Even PHX last year was in the midts of a 6 game winning streak at this point in the season.

It’s dangerously close to putting up or shutting up right now.

Forget champions, runner ups were starting to find their groove at about this time.

The Lakers are 8 games out and the teams they trail in the Pacific will likely play 65% ball or better the rest of the season. Utah is beginning to pull away and the next tier is Memphis, Lakers and Clippers. One of those 3 could get a 4 seed or one of the many 11 win teams might. It isn’t over but it’s going to be an uphill journey.
