I’d even go further by saying the first half was good. Sure they caught up in the second quarter but we kept fighting.
The second half was just pure trash. Wtf is going on at halftime? Bong tokes?
These slow second half starts is not something you can just shrug off with time.
It’s gotta be the point of emphasis from the opening tip.

Nah, losing to OKC twice was worse... |
Not even close bud. |
Well considering OKC is 6-9 and the Celtics are 8-8 and two of the wins from OKC came from us, I would say OKC losses were worse. |
Nah losing to Boston will forever be the worst.
We always lose to the Bobcats, Thunder, and whatever bottom feeder once or twice every season.
Losing to the c’s without Jaylen Brown or Robert Williams is just piss poor.
The rematch at The Crypto Center is around the corner December 9. What type of team will our Lakers be by then? |

Fish talking about we are losing key defensive pieces in Reeves, Ariza, and Nunn.
BS.
No reason with the product we have right now without those three we shouldn’t be dismantling these teams.
If Crappy second half starts is gonna be the reoccurring theme throughout the season forget everything.

Malik Monk is very solid but he has fallen off a cliff recently and that’s why he only got the veteran minimum, Nunn is far more better then Monk, and I can’t wait for us to get a guard back who can score in variety of ways.

Ok, now he is reaching. We CANNOT be an elite defensive team period. The only chance we have is be an average defensive team and an elite offensive team |

That’s the frustrating part for all of us right now, that it’s a collective issue with this team, maybe the whole team looking at the mirror can help solve some of the issues. |

Rough game. Did see Curry dominated last night playing hurt and leading his team to another win. Man, his shoulders though. Right? Looking forward to LBJ upcoming tweets about something political in nature though. |

Fire Vogel. He deserves on a decent team. The Lakers seem to have given up all their assets this year anyways so why retain Vogel? Bring in another former Laker HC and we're set to win the lotto for the Pels. Pels are the happiest team in league right now even though they suck...lol _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend! |

With all due respect MagicMamba we all gotta move on. An fwiw I miss AC like crazy as well but our front office decided to resign THT over him.
Bringing up AC just shines the light on THT more.
He can't go 0-6 for 2 points if we are gonna start him. He needs to get it going for sure and Lebron's return shouldn't slow him down. Definitely should enhance his play just like how AC fed off him. |

Our Lakers should all go out as a team and watch King Richard.
The amazing story of Richard Williams raising his Championship Tennis SuperStar Daughters, Venus and Serena Williams.
There's no doubt these guys need some Inspiration.

Dismantling a team of defensive team oriented players for selfish chuckers. You asked for it LG. Now drink it in. |
This is true |
Stop bring up the team from 2 years ago, majority of them are still here, they just didn’t age well. Can’t we all agree lebron and AD were just that much better that season? |
Not accurate at all. This isn't all about LBJ and AD declining. We didn't let teams go all game scoring 30 points every quarter 2 years ago and that started with solid defense. Our backcourt defense went from league best to terrible, and now we have way too many players not paying attention or coordinating on defense at all, some due to lack of experience, some are too slow, and one or two are either too selfish or too lazy. The squad from 2 years ago played defense on a string so well it was seamless most possessions, a great thing to watch, particularly in the 4th quarter when we never lost leads.
That wasn't LeBron being superman out there on defense, he did well because 4 other players excelled, allowing him to expend energy on offense. AD is likely as good a defender as he was 2 years ago, but you're not going to see it if he has nobody playing help defense, nobody rotating behind him if his man pulls him away from the basket. Then posters complain about AD. SMFH. If you're watching what's happening this is all about nobody rotating anymore because we don't have players committed to playing defense at the 1 through 3 spots, and a high usage low efficiency replacement hindering the offense and sacrificing team D for rebounds while we let other teams score at will. |
Of course it is, lebron barely played this season, and he was Superman until that ankle injury. AD has been far less aggressive on both ends. We had good defenders last season compare to 2020, and it didn’t work out because lebron and AD are not the same. |
LeBron was not the heart of our defense any season. He coordinated well and understood where to be though, he played smart in that regard. AD played a bigger role, but he's going to look like crap when positions 1 through 3 don't coordinate at all. We don't have anywhere close to the same roster we had 2 years ago, defensively. No solid wing defenders, too many guards who just won't or can't play defense. THT and Reaves are inexperienced but at least they hustle and show some brains; outside of those two we flat out suck on backcourt/wing defense. I won't argue that LBJ's decline hasn't affected our offense, but that's far from the only problem on offense or defense with this team. |
So we agree lebron and AD are not the same players as 2 seasons ago? Lebron and AD were guarding literally every one in the playoffs that season and it was unbelievable. He stopped Murray, westbrook, harden, dame when switched on him. AD was basically a cheat code. |
why is it so difficult for you to understand that AD can't cover so many bad defenders. | Really. Damn. We had 4 cheat codes on the floor at any given time. AD was one of them, and he was put in position to stop each of Murray, Westbrook, Harden, Dame because AC was given the assignment and he properly cut off their options and funneled them into AD. Team defense. That helped AD become a cheat code, because AC, KCP, and Green were cheat codes that forced them into terrible decisions. We don't have that now. We have Westbrook hanging back looking for rebounds.
Holding out hope that THT, Reaves, and Nunn can show up and change this. |
We had all of them last season(unless you think DG is that much better than DS on defense) and it didn’t work out. Why? Lebron and AD were hurt. All of LG were complaining how bad we were on offense last season. Truth is if lebron and AD were not at their best, we are just not a good team. AC/KCP certainly didn’t stop booker and Payne from killing us, did they? |
Top defensive ranking in the league over a whole season. Yes we had a bad series against Phoenix, but that doesn't negate the performance over the course of the whole season, where the Lakers were excellent on defense. I'm not even seeing solid defense for a whole game much less a portion of a season now. It's night and day worse this year. |
