So yea, it's time to address that question since no one has really given me a concrete answer.
Pelnka "lucked" into building a championship team. Why didn't he just sit on his butt and reap the benefits but instead tore the team down?
If Lebron+AD+shooter (Green) was a championship combo and you wanted to replace Green, why not replace him with someone similar? DS is a ball-dominant, average shooter which is vastly different from Green.
Hield is a pure shooter very much like Green which would have been a good replacement to maintain that championship combo. But instead, we opted for Westbrick which is more like DS. If DS didn't work out last year, why want to try again with a player similar to DS?
Did Pelinka do his due diligence on Westbrick before trading for him or did he just do so cuz someone said Westbrick is great? Did he know Westbrick was great because of his speed and everyone including Lebron becomes slower as they age? What happens when a player who relies heavily on his speed to be great becomes older? _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024

Eh. If the Lakers had run it back and not succeeded, fans would just complain that the Lakers were being complacent. |
