The Jetson One runs $92,000 and is already sold out for 2022, but the company says it’s taking orders for 2023. Those who got in on the 2022 production should expect to get them sometime in the fall next year.
Assuming the Jetson One actually makes it to production, that is.
The Royal Marines are taking enlistees. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

It looks like something straight out of a sci fi movie. The normal ones you see with dudes flying into stadiums and what not are so clunky. The movement on this thing is seamless. I wonder how close we are to an actual suit of power armor. Imagine the cool stuff we can come up if we didn't spend out money on a trumped up war. _________________ KOBE

I mean, in one respect, we only get these cool things because we spend money on war. Yeah, a lot of it is waste, like spending tens of millions for extra ammunition to fatten some defense contractors pocket, but theres also the tens of millions we spend for silly floating devices so we can fatten some defense contractors pocket!

I wouldn't call it silly. There are some very practical applications for that suit, both militarily and otherwise. I think the very reason it was developed in the naval context is because of how much safer it makes boarding a ship in rough seas. Instead of attempting to raft one craft to another, or use use a helicopter to either land or lower people on to a heaving deck, that's a much safer way to put personnel on to the targeted craft (though I do think the idea of using it as invasion tool is a bit unrealistic. I'm sure it makes a ton of noise and you aren't likely to catch anyone by surprise using it). _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

And it is also bulky and clunky looking both aesthetically and in its movement.
The Jetson looks elegant, more maneuverable and practical. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

I was being facetious, but your point is well-taken. The use case you cite is certainly an excellent one.
