That wide body that helps him absorb contact, on those drives to the basket, works against him on picks. He's not built to slip those, naturally. I would like him to take lessons from Wes Matthews, on how to fight through those picks. Wes is a wide body, too. But, was a master at staying bodied up on whoever he was defending.

Also, noticing just how bad a defender Ellington is. If he's not making shots at a high volume.... It's just the preseason, but during the season, we cannot afford to have Ellington AND Monk on the court at the same time. That's just asking for opposing guards to have field days.

Get ready for veteran team blah blah talk. But agree not a good look. Need the starters to actually play together and get a rotation going

Monk looks like a tight leash bench guy, no way should he be starting.

Apparently you’re not watching the game. His defense hasn’t been a problem. Poor defense is when the offensive player can use one move to get by. It’s been taking two or more moves to get by Ellington

That’s how we dug this hole.

I’ve listened to some annoying hometown broadcasts, but the warriors are killing me tonight. Spent half the first quarter promoting their tickets while only talking about warriors players.

I think the Lakers have as many turnovers as they have points. And, they stopped getting points, while the turnovers are still going strong. Not going in the direction you would like.

I'm saying this tongue-in-cheek. And, I'm not overly concerned. But, the amount of dysfunction on the offensive end is...eye catching. I don't expect the Lakers to look like champions, but I've been looking at other teams, and they seem to look like they did actual teamwork during the offseason. The Lakers look bad bad...even for preseason. This is looking like Coach Brown preseason levels bad.

Been watching the game, and Ellington is constantly getting burned. Oh wait...instead of one move, the offensive player gets by him on the second/third. That makes things waaaaay better. My bad.

I think one of our significant disadvantages is that we never have the same team from one season to the next where other teams have continuity and know how to play with one another. So they have a few new guys on the Warriors but the rest of these folks have been on for at least a couple of seasons now and then of course Dray Steph Klay and even the Return Of Iggy. You know Denver solid Dallas is solid etc. etc. so we obviously have the time to the talent to overcome it but it’s gonna take time because the guys just look like they need to play together.
