Nunn sitting out with the bone bruise might have been a blessing in disguise, he had all the time to get his body right, can you guys imagine if he ends up playing like a all star for us?

I think he'll play to the level of Monk with some defense. 15ppg

Unless he's consistently draining the corner 3 I have Nunns fit making him the 3rd best player.

That's very possible.

And if he is, it probably means we are a below .500 team again.

If someone like Reaves is our third best player (talking a substantial leap), then we are probably a respectable team and guys like Schroder, Nunn, Beverly and Walker can play to their strengths and roles.

the fact that you think these things are factual is hilarious. for one Lebron and AD health will determine if we're sub 500

He may be a better fit but Westbrook will be the engine when bron sits or when he’s injured. Nunn is def a more well rounded player and may even score close to the same amount as Westbrook but even if he does score around 18ppg he won’t average 6-8 assist or rebounds. Westbrook gets the nod for me for overall production

You aren’t getting the point. This is assuming Lebron and AD stay healthy, duh. If Nunn is your 3rd best player, that won’t be a good team.

Even with one of Davis or Lebron, the Lakers have proven to be nothing more than a lottery team…so yeah the 3rd best player will impact whether they are .500+ or not.

I didn’t miss any point there’s nothing to support the argument that Nunn being third best means the team is sub 500

Ok, I’m all for Nunn being the 3rd best player. Let’s see what the record is if that’s the case.

With his early bird rights, they could offer ~4/40 without using any cap space

Not true.

Nunn as a Early Bird free agent would have a 130% cap hold which is 6.825m. So that reduces our effective cap space by that amount if we don't renounce him.

IF you sign him to a 10m deal, then you reduce our cap space by that amount too.

It's only if you sign him to a room exception (slightly over 4m) that it won't affect cap space.

Kendrick Nunn Felt ‘Real Good’ In Return Despite Losing To Kings

Quote:
“Getting my legs back under me, my speed, my strength, I felt real good out there,” Nunn said.
Nunn ended up with nine points, two rebounds and an assist, shooting 57.1% from the field.
He also made one of his three 3-point attempts on a tough shooting night for the Lakers.

The preseason is a good time for Nunn to slowly get back up to speed, then once the season gets underway he would be well conditioned to perform up to his abilities.

All we need for him to do is shoot 40% from 3 this year.

He is a player and will win everyone over. Hopefully we keep this kid because I think he hasn't even reached his peak (only 2 years playing time).

I was a Nunn believer even through last year. Folks clowned him and people who supported him.

I think you can even do a starting lineup of Nunn/Reaves as our guards and you can maximize so many things on our team (shooting/Reaves as a heady secondary playmaker).

He should be considered part of our future core as we own his Bird rights. He will have 6.8m cap hold though so that would eat into our ridiculous 2023 cap plan.

I'll gladly take 15 points a game on high efficiency in 28-30 minutes a game from Nunn, but I wonder if there's any chance he could bump that up to 18-20 points per game.

Going to be hard with splitting time with Westbrook/Schro/Bev… Going to be interesting how Ham will be rotating those 4 guys.
