I'm laughing because the exact same question was playing over and over in my mind.
LeBron
Stanley
Troy Brown Jr.
Toscano
Guards/Small Wings:
Lonnie Walker
Reaves
Christie
Center/PF/Big Wings:
AD
Gabriel
Swider
Possible Wings:
O'Neal
Paris Bass
Today it's;
C - AD (PF) & Damian Jones
Small wings - THT, Walker & Reaves
PG- Russ & Nunn
SF - LJ, T. Brown & Toscano
PF- AD, Stanley, Gabriel
We'd need to add Christie, though he's a project, the Lakers paid for him so he'll probably be there. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team !
Max Christie will flourish and be utilized correctly by Ham and staff. He’s the wing to watch for. _________________ You mystified at what exists inside

The contrast is massive— one of the greatest wings of all time and then a bunch of scrubs. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
Maybe we're picking Markieff back up for the minimum after whatever bigger trades we make are done. He's still available, and we really need that backup position filled.

Man I sure hope not!!! T Bryant or bust lol! We currently only have D Jones as C with AD of course capable of playing the 5 tho I would not prefer that so…need more of a C. After getting a C would then like to add TJ Warren, he could fill that Morris role at PF while keeping an eye on Huff at C on the two-way.

MM is a backup PF, so snagging him has nothing to do with T. Bryant who is a backup Center. Go for both if possible.
Also, I would take TJ Warren as well, but he probably could get better offers than the minimum we would dangle. Players like him are waiting for Durant to get traded so that money from teams left out in the cold can be spent on fringe talent.
Pelinka is insistant on proving his vision of a wingless NBA team is the next innovation of the game. In it's final form, Pelinka will create a team of only 6'2" and shorter guards and only 6'10" and taller forwards/centers. None of you can understand the method to his madness, but trust me, there is a method. Those wing heavy teams will never be able to switch against a team of super-fast small guards and plodding dinosaurs in the paint.

Doesn't he also go the "all playmakers" route every odd year? Or is it every even year?
Troy Brown 6'6 215 could match up with bigger 2s/small 3s.
Stanley Johnson 6'6 240 could match up with bigger 3s and 4s.
Toscano-Anderson is 6'6 209 and could match up with bigger 2s.
Austin Reaves is 6'5 200 and could match up with bigger 2s.
6'4-6'2 guys
Westbrook
Lonnie Walker
THT
Kendrick Nunn
Mainly what I see is the issue is the guys we have who could match up with 2s, and some 3s, they're not very reliable players on offense. Vogel had to go through this all last year, when he subbed in someone like Stanley and Reaves, he got some more defensive effort, but the offense talent dropped.
They definitely need to do a trade where they send out some draft assets, Westbrook, and get back some wings who have starting level talent. Otherwise they're is just not a balanced lineup there. I've listed 8 perimeter guys out there, and can you even list one who is both a reliable shooter off the ball, and also an above average defender?
Pelinka failed so far on all those levels aside from the shot creating ball penetration threat (which we have in WB, Nunn, THT etc). - no floor spacing big that can defend the 5. No defenders at the wing that can shoot well. No stand out shooters that can defend a bit, either. It's July 4, so there's time until camp, but Pelinka did exactly what he does every offseason. He's reached Mitch's status right before he got fired. Lakers deserve better, IMO.
