He was also only 2-9 from three. I think Melo has been a great add for the vet min, but he’s a black hole on offense. He would be the perfect guy to come in for limited minutes and give the offense a boost.

That's basically his role but with all the injuries and covid, he has been forced into playing more than expected.
Carmelo always been a black-hole, shooter type but we anticipated Ariza to play a bigger role, which has not happened.
However, with his age and mileage, he can only do so much and has, IMO, exceeded expectations at this point. We can't realistically expect much more from him.

I love what he brings when he's on. I at least feel we have a chance to win when he's on. Overall, he brings an offensive threat, a physical presence because he's strong dude.

He doesn't get pushed around, and he's one of the few on our team that not only has a 3pt shot, but I've found myself loving his post game because his touch is deadly down there. I knew there would be nights when he'll look like the old Melo, and other nights he'll look like a "black hole" as the poster above noted.

The most benefit we'll get from him, and appreciate what he brings on those special nights, is when both James & Davis are finally playing together.

Very good all around game by Melo.
With LBJ out we needed Melo's scoring punch and he delivered.
Carmelo put the team on his back during a spurt in the first half.

Stats: 24 points (8-12 FG (5-6 3Pts.), 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 assists (+15 / team high)

I hope he returns soon, but hamstring injuries are tricky. Have to proceed with caution.

i cant believe he doesnt have value. he can score and has to be guarded. He would work well in Den, Philly, Suns, GSW, Utah for short stints.

Carmelo is listed as a "Game time decision" on the injury report.
Hamstring injuries are painful and easily aggravated; I hope he's ready to go because we'll have missed his scoring punch off the bench.

Growing Up Melo
The Origin Story of an NBA Great
Quote:
Before Carmelo Anthony became a household name by scoring the ball more than all but eight NBA players in history,
he was an unassuming kid, playing hoops in the parks and streets of Red Hook, Brooklyn, and West Baltimore.
