Jaylen Brown Injured Hand, Needed Stitches After Plant-Watering Accident

With the Celtics making their final push before the playoffs, they’ll hope everyone stays healthy as they try and reach the Finals for the second straight season. Unfortunately, Jaylen Brown was unable to do so, as he picked up an injury in a bizarre manner.

Boston ruled out Jaylen Brown for Friday’s game against the Raptors after he cut his right hand picking up a glass vase that he knocked over while watering his plants on Thursday night.

Brown received five stitches in between two fingers following the incident and will miss the Celtics’ final two games of the season. His hand was wrapped in bandages as he spoke with reporters at TD Garden ahead of Friday’s game.

“Picked it [the vase], set it on the ground, realized you probably shouldn’t set glass on the ground,” Brown said. “Reached down and picked it back up, and it got me.”

Despite the injury, the two-time All-Star plan to be back on the court in time for the playoffs to begin. Boston will close out the regular season on Sunday at home against the Hawks.
