inexcusable that we still have baton issues after all the times we already got killed by that. In a 4x100 race even if you have the most collective talent there's simply not of room for error on the handoffs
and then leg assignments were stupid too. There were no brainer choices of who should have led off the block and who should have ran anchor and they botched that too.

A certain former Olympian agrees with you...

The USA team did everything wrong in the men's relay. The passing system is wrong, athletes running the wrong legs, and it was clear that there was no leadership. It was a total embarrassment, and completely unacceptable for a USA team to look worse than the AAU kids I saw .

Am I the only one who’s frustrated with the way NBC provides coverage in such a confusing manner? You have to pay for Peacock to watch basketball, unless it isn’t the US— then it’s on NBCSN. Just put it all in the same place.

Even in an off game for Luka, he still has 17 assists.

Wow, Doncic defers on the final shot. Not what I would have expected from one of the clutches players in the league.

watching these Olympic basketball games makes it obvious there's a CLEAR talent gap between stars like Booker, Lillard, Tatum, etc and top tier talent like Kobe, Lebron, Durant, Wade, CP3.

Yup, just like at the All Star game. Just because someone averages 30ppg, doesn’t mean all 30ppg players are on the same tier. In fact some averaging below 30 are actually a notch above some of those 30ppg guys.

Team USA are in a couple of gold medal games on the last 2 days so they could end up on top of the gold medal count when all is said and done.

Didn't realize we suck at the Center spot.

America's starting 5 is Bam Adebayo. Javale McGee is backup but did not play.

Joel Emid from Cameroon.

Nikola Jokic from Serbia

Rudy Gobert from France

Karl-Anthony towns from New Jersey but decided to play for Dominican Republic.

Kristaps Porzingis from Latvia

Nikola Vucevic from Switzerland/Montenegro

Jonas Valanciunas from Lithuania

Deandre Ayton is from the Bahamas

Clint Capela is from Switzerland

a healthy AD will kill all of those centers. After that any defending/rebounding center is sufficient.

For 1 game sure.

But not in a 7 game series. Probably not for entire Olympic tournament. AD will not stay healthy. That is one of the reasons he insist on playing 4 and will only play 5 full time against a small ball teams.

I am always amazed how different some of the NBA guys look in The Olympics without their pet NBA refs feeding them "superstar" calls all game.

Guys like Booker, Lillard, LaVine looked lost without Scott Foster and his ilk around.

How known outside shooters like Dame and Booker are suddenly shooting like Giannis is quite surprising. Isn't the FIBA 3-pt line shorter or nearer the basket?

Team USA tied with China in the gold medal count with a couple more events left where they are in contention for more (womens indoor volleyball, 2 boxing matches), etc.

And that's with the United States not doing that well in track & field and swimming, at least compared to prior Olympics.

Yep the mens track team under performed this Olympics....only 1 gold in the 4x400m relay. The program definitely got some things to work on until Paris.

Watching volleyball I always find it interesting that you never know who actually won the point just based on the reactions of the players. Regardless what happens, they huddle after every play and they smile and encourage each other.

And with that victory in straight sets in womens indoor volleyball the USA has both the lead in golds and medal count.

Can you imagine that in other sports? Pitcher throws a strike and the outfielders run in for a hug…

USA wins the gold medal count. China's last chance to win a gold medal lost her boxing match. USA still has another boxing match in the super heavyweight division.
