Compliments of 32 in the Free Agency Thread

Quote:
The Indiana Pacers turned down a deal from the Lakers that would’ve sent Kyle Kuzma and the 22nd pick to Indiana for pick No. 13 and a salary filler, per @MikeAScotto

Life has come full circle. Four years earlier Magic and Pelinka were shopping DLo for a lottery pick and settled for Brook Lopez and the #27 (Kuzma).

Not surprised Indiana leaked this to the press. They have a pretty long standing animus with the Lakers, dating back to at least their pursuit of Jermaine O'Neal, to say nothing of Paul George.

The good news with us trying to move up means we are taking this draft seriously and drafting somebody instead of trading it away like it’s nothing like last year.

Last year we could have had Desmond Bane, and we would have been in great shape with that pick alone. We have an amazing scouting department. Take advantage of them please.

Lakers might need to draft Alex Antetokounmpo since an Antetokoumpo has won the last 2 seasons. Could be a trend and since we lost our current Antetokoumpo, we need to re-up. πŸ˜ƒ

No offense Mike, but you haven't been good for the last 7 years or so. Lol

Did you know:

Rostom Sipan Bagdasarian, known professionally by his stage name David Seville, was an American singer-songwriter, record producer, and actor of Armenian descent, best known for creating the cartoon band Alvin and the Chipmunks. Initially a stage and film actor, he rose to prominence in 1958 with the songs "Witch Doctor" and "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)", which both became Billboard number-one singles. He produced and directed The Alvin Show, which aired on CBS in 1961–62.

2nd pod on LFR.

Two more pods today and that should be it for the draft cycle.

The 2 guys I'd really want in the draft tomorrow is Jared Butler as my first option, and if not, trade down and select Bones Hyland. Both will help this team out this year and on the cheap

Hated how nervous I felt on Locked On, and the Kam brothers did a great job making me comfortable.

Also caught up with Tom. This was a lot more conversational and talked briefly about draft philosophy.

Philly just bought #53 pick from the Pels for $2M.

I wonder if the Lakers buy a pick too? Scouting department is really good and I hear this is a deep draft.

I say it every year, but this year especially with so many teams with multiple 2nds.

It's a good year to buy a 2nd. The tiers from 20-35 and 36-50 or so in terms of talent are roughly the same.

https://lakersdraft.substack.com/p/general-thoughts-about-consensus

There's a tweet in there that shows the teams with multiple picks.
