......

I guess the sooner I accept that the Lakers aren't really a smart organization, but an occasionally lucky one despite almost nothing but questionable moves, the better off I'll be mental health wise.

I was the first person who bought up Scott Brook’s name but I don’t expect any credit to be given

You being the secret GM of the Lakers would actually make a lot of sense.

Pretty sure if we hire Brooks he might ask Pelinka to target some of the players on the Wizards

“A” GRADE OFFENSIVE OPTIMIZATION RATING COME ON DOWN

A few thoughts:

1) LA is looking for an offensive mind to add to the staff (YES)

2) that offensive mind & change associated would make Fiz more valuable

3) the 2013-20 offensive optimization data (not this year bc we’re redoing talent grades) on Brooks is solid

4) film time

It would make sense if we’re trading for Westbrook

Well one clearly has history with brodie...hahaha!

Seriously tho, that would be the move that I would be eying if they blow it up in Washington and Beal gets sent elsewhere. IF that happens...buckle up haha

Good chance we end up with Westbrook out of all the rumored PGs we are connected with.

Was wondering, what is the limit for assistant coaches? Thought we found a Kidd replacement in Fizdale unless Hollins or Handy(hope not) are leaving as well.

Here is the rankings of the Wizards offense with Brooks as coach:

2016-17: 5th
2017-18: 13th
2018-19: 10th
2019-20: 7th
2020-21: 3rd

This would be a really nice addition to the Lakers coaching staff. Also, shows the Lakers are well aware of the offensive issues of this team as well.

@Tim_NBA

So the film this year isn't good. Digging into the optimization rating further, it's gone down every year for the past 4 seasons (and we haven't calculated for 2020-21 yet).

Eh

I'm 120 half court clips deep and haven't seen 1 set yet I'd want to bring to the Lakers, nor have I see strong playcalling to target coverages the defense was running

Gotta love the thinking on here that re-pairing Brooks and Westbrook— two guys the NBA leaves further behind every year— would be a successful one here.

With Russ, they were better than us this year in offensive rating.

Would love to have Russ and Brooks join.

LG was piss and moaning the addition of an "OLD" Chris Paul last year when rumors said the Lakers were interested. When it comes to LG, I'm here for entertainment and not bball assessment.

That’s not saying much considering how uninspired our offense is beyond “Lebron do something.” Washington did well to surround him with shooters, even going five out a lot of the time. But there are few offenses he would be worse in than here. Pack the paint like every other team did against us and then just sag off and dare him to shoot. Lebron and aD going from option 1/2 to 2/3? Huge win for the defense.

I was in the minority of Get CP3 at all non-Lebron/AD costs but trading for Westbrook is the end of championship window as we know it.

Interesting candidate. He is business partners with Russell Westbrook here in socal. He is part owner of the Russell Westbrook Auto Group mainly in OC. I work for an auto manufacturer and met him and Russ several times during one of our owner's meetings. Smart man.

Adding a slasher when you need to spread the floor does
not make sense; to me.

Frank Vogel moving swiftly to replace Jason Kidd. First Fizdale and, as Stein notes, possibly Scott Brooks. Fizdale/Brooks would give the Lakers one of the strongest coaching staffs in the league.

Crap, this moron said it makes our staff strong.
So maybe it is a bad move
