Dinwiddie IS better than KCP as the starting PG!

Que pasa?

I just don’t know how much of an upgrade he is.

He's not an upgrade, it's a lateral move at best but it's actually a downgrade. if he saves us cash by not re-signing DS it's an okay move if not it doesn't make much sense

Wasn't there once a loophole where players could come out of retirement to make trades work? I think they closed the loophole, but otherwise that could be a future career for Kuzma.

There was...once upon a time, a retired McKie helped Pau become a hermambano...also Keith van Horn gave Cuban a lifeline to bring in Kidd.

But like you said, that loophole has been cemented shut since...so any trade proposals where we S&t Waiters is a no-go.

Not a bad consolation/hedge idea for the point guard situation.

If this trade would become a more clear reality, DS would get the message that he needs to take the 4/84 offer, agree to a S&T or will likely take less $$ somewhere else. Depending on that reaction, a more clear decision can then be made on both THT and Caruso in terms of contract size/need.

So, I guess it would come down to terms between the teams and, of course, SD's health but:

A) SD agrees to opt in to his 12m traded for Kuz and a pick = no brainer

B) Dual S&T with DS and SD = Doesn't make much sense for Brooklyn and is a tougher to swallow with the cap implications for the Lakers but does resolve the situation while preserving other assets for other trades and could be an upgrade as far as 3 point shooting - again assuming health.

C) Single S&T for SD using Kuz and other assets = Not worth it in my opinion as the Lakers would essentially giving up multiple assets trading for a duplicative player and in doing so would give DS a huge reason to walk for nothing.

Probably nothing anyway but I guess worth some mid-summer banter...

I remember the meme at the end of his career: "Player X was traded for Player Y...AND THE CONTRACT of Keith Van Horn"

What's so funny to me is every Laker role player played like complete trash in the playoffs but Kuz is the only one being scapegoated.

What's even more hilarious about the situation is you can make a very strong argument that he had the best regular season of any Laker role player.

I dont think I've ever seen a more toxic relationship between a Laker player and this fan base.

Fake account tweeted a rumor and people ran with it

No to Kemba.

2021 FA date is 8/2.

I'd love to see SD's net rating with LeBron.
Cuz Alex and LeBron was at +17.1.

I am. He’s basically in Oladipo territory…

I would look elsewhere for guard help tbh.

If the trade is made, watch Kuz start to shine like others the Lakers have let go.

So many are seriously discussing this trade for so long ?
It has to be a sign and trade now which is a LOT more difficult to pull than the proposed trade before the trade-deadline. 3 parties need to agree and then Lakers have to deal with hard cap.

And they'll discuss all the way until free agency begins and when it doesn't materialize, they'll be discussing all the reasons Rob is an idiot for passing on a superstar like Dinwiddie.

This part of the off-season is basically people grasping at straws and reading the tea leaves.

Don't see how he would "shine" in Brooklyn behind Durant, Harden and Irving.

He'd just be a face in the crowd (not that I think this trade will actually happen.)

For Kuzma to "shine" he'd need to go to a crappy team where he could be the #2 guy -- in that situation, I could see him being a 20 ppg. player for a 30-win team. So, if that's your idea of "shining," sure it could happen.

You have a point, but that's not what I mean.

By shine I mean play like he's shown he's capable of. Become more consistent. Kuz hasn't accepted his role here. When he did he played well. A change of scenery may be what he needs. A trade may cause him to see the light. He's not an alpha dog.

Yeah, that's pretty much what happened with BI, Zo and Julius Randolph.

Those guys were all projected to be where they are. Kuz may have already hit his ceiling
