Yeah, if you live in California or anywhere that has there 3-5 person fan groups I don't see how you could ever root for them. On top of being highly, highly disrespectful and trash talking the Lakers nearly non-stop the past two years especially (outside of about a 2 month window after them being embarrassed and us winning a Championship last year) there fans are hilariously delusional and act like they are a real LA team and while it is kind of cute it's annoying after awhile. They're like the little Chihuahuas biting at the Lakers heels aka an American Pit Bull Terrier.
Overall though I admittingly do not want them to win more so for the amount of trash talking and nonstop media coverage there will be about "Are the Clippers now the better franchise in LA?" along with endless other clickbait topics nonstop for at minimum an entire year. No thanks! I'd much rather watch them have another epic fail Playoff series like they have done like clockwork there entire franchise history the few times they have had a legit squad. |

The closest thing I can remember that is some sort of semblance of a divisional or conference brotherhood... was when Don Carter, Dallas Mavs owner back in 1988, attended Laker/Pistons finals games and rooted on the Lakers. He just lost to the Lakers in a 7 game series. Yet he attended the finals and rooted for the Lakers. Not just sitting there looking cool, but all into it when the Lakers would make a run and come back from a deficit, he'd be up with the fans going.. "C'mon, lets go!" I thought it was the coolest thing.
Can you imagine Mark Cuban, or any rival owner for that matter, attending a Lakers finals and rooting hard for the Lakers? Now it's all hate. Don Carter, I will never forget him man. He had that cowboy hat on all the time. Must have been good friends with Dr. Buss. Oh yeah, and the answer is NO, you cannot root for the Clips, especially when they're led by a dude who tried to sabotage our free agency, and another dude who wouldn't even take a meeting. |

I'm pulling for the Clippers mainly because I can't stand the Suns.
(Btw, anyone know the rule on goaltending being allowed on a throw in from out of bounds? I looked at the NBA rules but couldn't find it). |

That’s where I’m at also. I am not a Suns fan, but the Clippers act like the biggest punks non-stop. They’re like the guy who tries to start (bleep) with you for no reason when you’re minding your own business in public. That’s who these guys are. These guys are non-stop disrespectful on the court, they’re a squad that specializes in being arrogant pieces of (bleep). There are a number of times each game in these playoffs where I’m surprised that more delays of game and technicals aren’t called with how these guys act. I say it often in the game threads about the WWE style antics of Reggie Jackson and Patrick Beverley. I’ll add that it is also ridiculous that Demarcus Cousins even has the mindset to shove two Suns players when he got upset after Ayton’s game winner. I hope the Suns are able to stick it to these clowns and send them packing.

I could never root for the Clippers. But being an LA native, I can never hate a team who brings a championship to the city.
So it wouldn’t bother me it they won one. I’d just be meh about it.

The clippers did it to themselves….
moved into staples
Covered the laker banners
Annoyingly poached the lakers FA pursuits
They even have a logo that is eerily similar in style to the laker logo
To top it all off - they’ve had two unlikeable owners in sterling and balmer who’ve shown nothing but disrespect to the lakers accomplishments and legacy and importance to the city - I know it’s a business but I think they’re management and marketing team have helped create the animosity - it is what it is - they screwed up |

There is no goaltend on the Ayton game winner because you cannot goaltend when there was never a shot; you cannot score a basket by throwing the ball directly into the hoop from out of bounds.
With that said, (bleep) the Clippers! There's only one basketball team in LA.
