If they Lakers will opt to play hard on their next 2 games, they might end up tired in the 1st day of the play-in.
Play-in will be their 3rd game in 4 days. So those who want the Lakers to still play hard and get the win should change your mind now. Better rest and let Warriors and Grizzlies fight it out for the twice to beat advantage and only have 1 day rest. |

Just play the G-Leaguers in the last game of the regular season. Just forget the win. Maybe play Dennis around 10 minutes so he can get his groove back before the play-in. |

I have mixed feelings. I want LeBron to play some minutes before the play-in. But I also want to lose both game and try to get a better draft pick. |

Basketball is heavily reliant on rhythm. They need to play. They have had enough rest. If they are still hurt... Well we are screwed either way. |

I think I'd rather us play. Remember what we looked like in the seeding games?

So you will go for 3 games in 4 nights and risk an injury and expect them to not get tired? |

I mean every scenario sucks at this point, each having it's own tradeoffs. |

Ok let's risk it all and get tired! Play the remaining no bearing games! Coaching staff aren't that dumb to do that though. |

These are professional athletes. They'll be fine. They need rhythm more than rest at this point. They've rested enough. It's go time. The play in is win or we lose seeding. Lose twice and we're out. We can't afford to be cold at the wrong time. |

There is no easy answer. Either choice sucks.
Rest or the very real possibility of not being “playoff ready”.
Anyone they play is going to be tired too. But they will have faced the intensity of a competitive game.
The complete unknown is how prepared the Laker players are to run hard ands battle every play with some urgency.
If they have 20 TOs, shoot a poor percentage and give up repeated dunks on poor rotations they will get beat by any of the “ lesser” teams. Being rested and playing like crap ( which they have multiple times this year) is just as likely ending in a loss.
Again, no easy answers. We will see on the 18th how ready they are. |

Lakers don't have a draft pick this year. We traded it away as part of the AD deal. |

Is that a straight lost pick or a swap? If it's lost that sucks.
As to the OP anybody with nagging injuries, like Caruso or AD I'm holding out. Lebron can go out there and run up and down and jack up threes to get some wind back but I'm not letting him go crazy either. |

I believe it was top 8 protected. And of course the Lakers have no chance of falling that far in the standings, so it would go to NO.
Hypothetically, if the Lakers had a top 8 pick this year, next years 1st rounder would be unprotected and would have gone to NO regardless of where the Lakers finished. |

Hasn't enough time passed to rest from the injury? If they can't go in these next 2 games - are Bron and AD going to magically be healthy next week?
Don't know what the right answers are here...
Made this point in a previous thread, but our starters have yet to play a single minute together - DS/KCP/LBJ/AD/AD2. If these next 2 games aren't treated like practice for these guys to gell...then idk if we can
What I do know is that our starters need minutes on the court together in these last 2 games - even if its limited minutes. |

They need a couple of tune up games to shake the rust off. Also they need to get back in game shape specially Lebron and Schro. Then there’s the chemistry part. Schro/Kcp/Lebron/AD/AD2 has not played together. |

I am amazed at the confidence of so many that the Lakers are going to just walk through GS in a few days without any game time together and being out for weeks.
Have you watched GS or Memphis in recent weeks? Lakers “should” win but I can easily see a pathway for GS to embarrass the Lakers.
Are we forgetting the last time they all played together they lost b2b to depleted Kings and Raptors teams. Even healthy the Lakers have had too many games with high teen turnovers and 25% from 3pt range.
But apparently that won’t happen “this time”?
Prefer they play them the first half both games. Practice playoff rotations then pack it in if the wins don’t matter. |

Right. They should play all remaining games. That doesn’t mean they have to play 40 minutes, or even 30. But they need to get some playing time before the playoffs (and play in). |

Blazers will beat DEN in the finale, my gut says the Nuggets will rest Jokic. If the Clippers lose to HOU or OKC, Denver winning could set up a 3/6 vs Lakers (if they win out). Denver better off at 4. And Clippers probably win out, locking DEN at 4 anyway so legit rest Jokic |

Teams are already resting and guys here still want all the Lakers players to play 3 games in 4 nights or possible 4 games and 6 nights coming from an injury. What a joke. |

Have you considered the other teams and players have actually been playing and need the rest more then they need to build efficiency and chemistry?
Lakers backed themselves into this corner, now they pay a price for falling to the play-in. Sucks! But if they had taken care of business before the injuries piled up they would not be in this position.
And nobody is advocating to play them 40mins How about the first half? Regular rotations would put that at about 15mins or so. |

Play them long enough to get small glimpses of line ups. |
