8th seed has to play an extra game or two. Not guaranteed a playoff spot.

If the 8th beat the 7th, then they are the 7th if I get it correctly

Two games we have zero excuses not winning against Sacramento and Toronto.
We lose, terribly.

Now we play the next 5 games against playoff teams starting immediately tomorrow.
Based off our performances and injuries this season the chance at repeating doesn’t look possible.

Sooner or later you gotta figure it out if it’s even worth it to risk Lebron and AD’s health going into next season.

Lakers lost 121-114

Easiest way to look at this game is seeing how Siakam/Lowry went off for a combined 76 points.

It runs deeper than that, however.

Team seemed extremely disinterested in playing with any fire or intensity. They were down by over 20 at one point.

They eventually started chipping away...but, it was just was one of those old down by alot, come back make it close games. Still an L. Still alot of bad moments.

Vogel also continues to utilize kieff/trez...didnt help at all. As soon as those 2 came in the Raps offense caught fire. They had 17 points with 3:19 in the first quarter...then 32 after 1...after Trez/Kieff came in. That carried over into the second.

Starters also didnt help much after that.

But, Jeannie Buss at the half posts on twitter a reference to I dont care:

https://twitter.com/jeaniebuss?lang=en

And now Worthy just went off about how they looked like Zombies out there.

Actually, a good call by Worthy. That's the Lakers during this losing streak...Zombies, especially on defense.

Now tied for the 6th/7th seed. Denver licking its chops and up next.

If we are 7/8, we play the other 7/8 team for the 7 spot. If we lose, we play whoever won the 9/10 game for the 8 spot, and if we lose we are out.

Yeah, that’s fine, if we can’t beat the 8th place team or 9/10th, a vacation would be nice

The way the Lakers are playing right now against the bottom feeders, those play-in tourney teams would straight up murder us. It's a one-game sudden death so anything could happen.

There is no way lebron would sit if they even have a chance to make the playoffs, even if it means playin game

The Drummond and Davis duo has been an epic fail, I could argue that McGee/AD front court was a lot more effective.

Who knows, maybe they can get their groove back in a few games. If we can’t beat the bottom feeders, then we get what we deserved

It’s not worth it and it isn’t even close.

We have about a 3% (if that) chance at a repeat this year, so I’d happily pack them in ice and get them healthy for next year if given the option.

Play in? We ain’t making the playoffs.

Unless Pels or Kings play out of their minds, combined with Lakers losing basically almost every game left, Lakers will get in play in.

But if they dont win the play in, yep...they go to...the lottery!

I disagree.

If a play-in or 1st round exit is likely, I actually would bet that he’d hold himself out so it can’t be an argument used against him in the debate about the GOAT. As far as I know, LBJ has never been knocked out of the 1st round and his prolonged absence will be the excuse.

What do you call this Raptors team without OG, FVV, Trent Jr? Elite? We just got stomped on by a bottom feeder team. Matter of fact, we got beat by a G league team.

5-16 tonight.

What's becoming scarily predictable as someone who has watched this team basically for about 90%+ of their games?

I felt the L coming in the second quarter. In fact, I posted that if the Lakers gave up another 30 point quarter, they would lose (after the first) ...I believe the team is under .500 when giving 2 or more 30+ point quarters this year.

NOP has 3 games left against GS, 1 against PHI, MEM, LAL and DAL

They have to go 8-0 and lakers go 0-8, so we don’t need to worry about if we can get into the play-in, it is how quickly we can get back our groove

The last 2 games were worse than the games lakers played without AD and Lebron

Good thing AD signed the maximum 5-year deal so he's set for the next 5 years. We'd better hope he would return to his Pelicans day otherwise we'd be in a world of hurt in the coming years.

I do realize that Lebron is only 2 games back and has to get back in sync.
Davis is still trying to get back into game shape.

But it’s the rest of the guys too, they pretty much suck.

I know people hated Trezz and Trezz played better than ad tonight on BOTH SIDES, let that sink in

AD hasn’t been good at all this year, he wasn’t all that good before he suffered the calf injury, his body language has been bad this season.

Effort and intensity is the real issue...they played like they just didnt care for too much of this game.

Their defense has failed them far too often the past 7 games.

Yep. There’s really nobody that we can rely on.

Kieff was the most solid contributor before the ankle injury and he’s fallen off of the cliff ever since.

Also, where TF is Wes? Is he even on the team anymore?

this team lost some good leaders in Rondo/Danny Green and Dwight (moreso because he was always playing hard)

Dennis/Harrell/Drummond are all too laid back.

This team doesnt have any leaders outside of their 2 stars

Also AD legit looks like a 3rd team all star type player at best. I can probably name about 30 better players than him right now and not sure he can get it back this year.

Disagree on D, I didnt think he did much at all. One nice block.

But I wont argue AD is nowhere near what he was...I'm not seeing fire or intensity from the guy like I did last year.

How old is he again? If they don’t have it this season, next season is only going to be worse. What is the difference between not making the playoffs , getting bounced in the first round or lose in the play in game? People defending him will use the injury excuse and people mocking him will do it anyways. He is 36, and he will play if there is a chance
