Cool. Glad to see he’s moving on and he’s found another spot that hopefully works for him and the Lakers have moved on. A win-win.

EDIT: oh wait wasn’t Dwight with Philly? So basically they just swapped. Too funny. Anyway I think we got the better end of the swap for our needs.

(Never thought I’d say that about Dwight but there ya go. Things change lol)

if he wanted to take vet and play for a bigger contract, Philly is so not the place to do that, lol.

is there any benefit for phily and the lakers to do an "after the fact" trade between D39 and andre?

didn't we do the same thing with ariza and artest? like it benefits both ball clubs instead of just informally trading 2 players through free agency?

I think the Lakers saw enough last year to know Dwight was the better fit. Drummond isn’t ready to be a role player yet. So they did the Ariza/Artest trade.

Good to see him in Philadelphia. Losers belong in a loser franchise. I prefer Dwight.

I like all 3 of our trades so far, but 2 have gone under the radar.

LA/Philly - Dwight/Drummond
LA/Heat - Nunn/Kieff

I think we made out alright.

Someone explain this to me— how did Drummond ever put up such ridiculous averages (17.0 ppg and 15.0 rpg) when he’s not actually a good player?

Because he has one elite skill (rebounding) and is mostly empty stats. But then again, lots of people like empty stats players like Drummond, Cousins, etc.

Drummond can play. He just didn't fit what we were trying to do.

Agreed, he’s another one of those guys that would’ve been very valuable about 10-20 years ago. His rebounding is still top notch, but the (unfortunate) consequence of having a perimeter oriented league means that bigs like him are being phased out and forced to take on limited roles/opportunities

Wait till you watch him this year. You'll wonder where it all went.

So was Drummond. So was Gobert.

Playoffs require a big man with skill. AD is perfect.

Off topic, but the suns got McGee. He is what he is, but I think he’s a perfect backup. They can run the same plays they do for Ayton.

Drum for vet min but in all seriousness I wouldn’t mind Lakers having an extra center as ins for that price. Wonder if he would’ve accepted that to stay in LA rather than join his nemesis Joel in Philly.

Drummond signing for the vet min is interesting, particularly as it isn't exactly a 'prove it' deal being stuck behind Embiid

For them, Drummond is probably the better fit, as Philly lacked good bench depth last year. Howard the better fit for us, though
