Dustin May may be our LA Dodgers version of Karl Spooner. The guy Campanella said had the best stuff he ever caught and that includes Koufax. Only the Dodgers: 2 GOAT talents in Pete Reiser and Karl Spooner who both go down to injuries and are now nobodies in history who most Dodger fans dont even know

If ESPN has to write an article comparing how bad the league-wide offenses are compared to 1968 and you actually helped create this situation, you know you are creating a terrible product. Manfred needs to stop this abomination of a product.

Man, its tough to see us get a man on third (with less than 2 outs)...We just can't bring them home with a sac or hit n run. It's getting to the point where we might have to just try some sui squeezes.

The Dodgers are more likely to trade for Yuli Gurriel and Carlos Correa than they are to execute a suicide squeeze with a position player up lol.

Even Mookie makes a dumb play. Dodgers lead the NL in outs on the bases. Looked like we'd score 3 and only get 2, and now Vesia immediately walks the first 2 hitters so White has to come in to a horrible situation, needing to limit the damage to 1 or less for us to win.

On top of May looking like he suffered a fairly serious injury. Price is out for at least 6 weeks and Gonsolin is still probably a month away. Josiah Gray may have to be called upon to be the fifth starter.

I have no idea what happened to May, but the first thing you think about is his shoulder. He was losing velocity, and he wasn't grabbing an elbow on the last pitch. It's something you rationally fear out of any young pitcher, especially a hard-throwing string bean. That body type on young, hard-throwing pitchers tends to be the most susceptible to arm trouble.

Mitch White looking good. You called it last year.

Hopefully all these injuries have lead to us discovering Mitch White this year.

Sure enough, Mookie's misplay costs us, and then Seager doesn't even get a glove on a fieldable ball. Not even a glove on it. That's why he won't get a big payday from us.

When it rains, it pours, and it's pouring for the Dodgers right now.

By the way, White threw awful 0-2 pitches to each of the last 3 batters of the game. Got away with a hanging slider to Hiura, got away with a center-cut fastball to Garcia before he ended up getting the hit, and there on 0-2 to end the game. Will never understand it as long as I live.

Yeah, bad 0-2 pitches aside, he was working on back-to-back days for the first time in his career, and a major league SS should make that play. I'm not blaming him for the loss.

Rios is 0 for his last 28 or something like that, and it's not like he's hitting balls hard at people. He needs to go down, like Beaty did, and maybe he can find his stroke like Beaty apparently has. Vesia, I'm sorry, you can't come in and walk 4 batters like that (out of 7 faced), just ridiculous. He'll almost certainly be optioned, since the Dodgers are going to need fresh arms tomorrow. We've had 2 bullpen games in a row. Might see White and Cleavinger optioned too. We'll need fresh arms. And May will go on the IL so that will allow for another roster move as well.

Really fearing the worst on May. If it's a season-ender, I'm hoping for a torn biceps or triceps or something, instead of a torn elbow ligament. That would knock him out for much of next year too, or maybe all of next year.

Yeah not just the time missed but he might not be the same pitcher when he comes back. You never know.

This team was never that good as people think they are. Last year was more of an aberration now it seems. The clutch offense and bullpen are still the Achilles’ heel of this team going back a decade or more. On offense it’s all about feast or fathom, lots of 2 out singles they lead to nothing. Starting pitching is the only bright spot on this team, never a title contender does not have a definite go to guy as a closer. Front office is lazy, brought back the same team other than adding Bauer who fortunately picked us. We need some new blood on this team, enough of 30 year old call ups and ex Rays and A’s players. We need some players with exciting personalities, last of all get rid of overrated Dave Roberts.

Great. Bad offense, bad defense, bad bullpen, hey why not bad starting pitching too? What a (bleep) disaster.

Last year there were some threats in the lineup. Mookie was playing like an MVP, Seager was killing the baseball, and this year the team doesn’t have that 1-2 punch with them at the top of the lineup. I’ve seen too many spots with Mookie and Seager coming up in important at-bats and coming away empty (and Turner too despite his high average). Muncy at least walks a lot but when he doesn’t he comes away empty too often. And this is the most dangerous part of the lineup; some of the weaker hitters look like easy outs.

Some other hitters had solid years last year too. There were struggling hitters in the lineup, but at least they brought some power.

I disagree. I think we were a powerhouse and have been for many years. Friedman/Zaidi did a great job. In fact it’s shocking we only have one World Series ring. Hard when you’ve been cheated out of 2.

Anyways we have dominated the regular season for far too many games with this core to be labeled an aberration. On top of that you added Mookie last year and Seager was finally healthy. This team has been the most dominant force in baseball for years. And we have been consistent as well.

It’s all unravelling but this is baseball. There is plenty of time to fix our problems and get healthy. Even after all that we have gone through we have a better record than the Padres who are the so called second best team in the NL. The Giants are not going to keep this up even though I think they have a pretty good idea as to what they’re doing over up there in the bay.

We also added Bauer to an already dominant team. We are fine. One game out of the NL west lead? Yeah I’m not worried but this has been a painful year to watch except for our amazing starters.

No need to panic..in fact I rather deal with this now than in the playoffs. In years past (minus last year) we have dominated the regular season with no hiccups only to flail when it counts the most. Call it a hangover..blame it on the dead ball..blame it on the injuries..whatever it is you wanna blame it on but I don’t think we are in a position of major stress.

Who really scares you if you look across the league? The Yankees are struggling...Houston is barely above .500...the Cardinals even after adding Arenado are doodoo..the Padres have been MeH besides the series at Dodger stadium and the Twins/WhiteSox/Athletics/Braves all have been far from impressive. The whole league seems to be adjusting to whatever it is that has changed and it’s not just us.

If after all this we are still 1-2 games behind the best record (who happens to be KC/MIL/SF) I think the league should be hella concerned and not us. We’ve played our worst and are much better off compared to other contenders.

BTW wtf is happening this year? Is it a coincidence btw that small ball KC has the best record in the league? LOL.
