When was the last time LA won just one ring? Usually it is back to back or a 3 peat.

Since the ABA/NBA merger

NBA Titles:

1. Lakers (11)
2. Bulls (6)
3. Spurs (5)
4. Celtics (4)
5. Heat, Pistons, and Warriors (3)

This is how the NFL counts Superbowls. It makes sense in the NBA too

Thinking Basketball ranks Lebron and AD as the best and 2nd best player in the league for 2020.

To round out his top 10 3rd is Giannis, 4th is Kawhi, 5th is Harden, 6th is Doncic, 7th is Jokic, 8th is Embiid, 9th is Lillard, 10th is Butler

Two of the clutchest FT's ever = special place in Laker lore for The Machine. 2020 title probably brings extra joy due to his beef with Dragic.

Bron already proved himself

AD, Butler, Doncic, Jokic, Lillard... these cats proved themselves in the bubble, got to next gear

Harden, Embiid... meh, didn't up their game, I mean their game is great but didn't have 'one of those' games

Kawhi def choked

but overall your list looks good, maybe Curry around kawhi-Harden then KD-Embiid outside looking in

Funny how talking heads in the media, big youtubers, and social media in general are giving the Lakers props now. All year they were bashing this team and now they want to talk how good this team really was. Maybe next time they should appreciate the journey of it instead of looking like idiots bashing the squad

^While I do agree for the most part, some in the media are still clearly shaken up and extremely bitter.

Quote:

The Lakers won their record-tying 17th title.

Said one senior Lakers executive: “While some of our so-called rivals spent literally hundreds of millions of dollars trying to win media cycles, we kept our heads down and focused on basketball — because the only thing we’ve ever cared about winning is championships.”

The Lakers bested the Clippers and everyone else. The Lakers absolutely deserve a victory lap.

But to take this shot anonymously is rather weak.

Could taste the bitterness in the fact that he cried about us rubbing it into the Clippers too much

This guy should just tuck in his tail and carry on with his fishing trip with the Clippers

Would be nice. L.A. is still under the Widespread level of Covid, unfortunately.

But there's got to be some creative ideas out there. Extra long parade route so people don't gather in dense numbers. Cruise down the coast on a boat. Have AC drive the team around in a white Ford Bronco, lol.

I don't know.

Didn't stop the thousands who flooded the downtown area after the Lakers won the championship. Shoulder to shoulder, many without masks. I believe there were 176 arrests. I hope LA doesn't experience a COID-19 spike.

Bill Plaschke being among the most ridiculous.

How that guy gets paid to pound out his drivel is beyond me, all I can say is it is a great country if he can make a living.

Been a long time since I've logged in, but I wanted to show love and congratulate all of my fellow passionate Laker fans on this board.

It's been a loong ten years, from all of the endless debates about Lakers drafts, trades, pipe dreams, free agents, and G-League players. And the worst of them all, the death of Kobe, Gianna, and the others aboard the helicopter on January 26th.

As for this season, from the COVID lockdown, to having endure all of that MADNESS about Kawhi, PG & the Clippers ALL YEAR. To ESPN & Woj being consistent HATERS... Lol.... To having to endure crazy talk about Pelinka's alleged incompetence on the AD trade, we Laker fans have had to endure perhaps the most amount of hate ever in one season...

AND WE CAME OUT ON TOP!!!!

MUCH LOVE TO ALL LAKER FANS. I will enjoy this one for years to come, as I'm sure you will.

Peace!

I seen that. What a (bleep) lol. Ya on the surface, a three-peat is more impressive. But if 4 wins and 6 losses isn’t impressive....why isn’t everyone doing it? The warriors had the best chance and they fell apart due to injuries. Making the finals so many times regardless of competition is no easy feat. So many things (like injuries) can happen at any point. Lebrons ability to steady the ship so many times is amazing.

And other things like clashing egos, teams losing focus like this years Clippers. They had the talent to win it all and should’ve this year. Didn’t even make the WCF. Every team Lebron has been on, he’s found a way to get to the championship round...even that garbage ass 07 Cavs team.

Another thing, if Speights tweet came from someone like Bill Russell, Jordan, or Kareem...it would’ve held more weight...but Speights? Gtfo he won as role player by beating Lebron without Love and Kyrie...then blows a 3-1 lead the following year. The nerve of this scrub to call out Lebrons accomplishments or lack thereof.

Lillard said it best ...”lots of people are 0-0” 4x champ and 4x finals mvp is nothing to sneeze at.

LA times still running their NBA finals paper three days after clinching. Filled with pictures and a bunch of articles.

You know it’s a special championship when they can’t stop writing about it 3 days after the final game.
