He's made $60+ million in his playing career. Hopefully, he's managed his money well enough that stepping down to a junior assistant coach gig won't mess up his lifestyle financially.
I'm GUESSING they'd start him between $250K-$400K if he'll be on the bench. Less if he's not on the bench (strength and conditioning, special advisor, video coordinator, etc.).

Marc Stein said a prominent role on Kidd's staff whatever that means. But yeah he is taking a big hit financially compared to the NBA vet min salary he could get.

Would have loved to see Dudley on the Lakers coaching staff, after seeing the positive influence he had on our locker room.
Nonetheless, it's good for Dudley and I'm happy for him. I hope this is the start of a successful coaching career. |

Lakers have 6 Assistant Coaches and Player Development Coaches
Celtics have 6
Knicks have 5
Warriors have 5
Clippers have 11
Bucks have 9
Nets have 8
Nuggets have 7
Maybe there was room for Dudz - maybe he wanted a bigger role on the staff. Maybe he and Kidd are tight.

After watching him in that pod Road Trippin' with Cliffton/Jefferson/Frye, I think he's shooting for future GM. If not that, an analyst on any media outlet he so chooses.
Dudz will be sorely missed. He was our Fish/Udonis.

I'm with you except for Rondo...they're going to leave an open roster spot in case someone is bought out during the year. Ennis and Sampson are bigger needs than Rondo. |
