AD is no longer a top-3 big man in the league- Richard Jefferson

Embiid
Jokic

Who's here?

In most lists I see, AD is ranked behind Giannis, Jokic, and Embiid. I doubt many people would argue with that

Curious to see which AD shows up. 1st year top 5 or chill mode

"chill mode" was 24/10 with 2 blocks per game while taking the most responsibilities on the team and being elite on both ends of the court??

AD is capable of being such a beast in this league but he’s content doing what he is doing. He has way more skill than Gannis, and could be a more impactful player.

I wish people would stop saying Davis has more skill than Giannis... he does not! Giannis is physically superior as well.

AD is a better shooter, better post up player, better defender. It’s just hidden behind his soft exterior

Can’t wait to see him back.

He and Russ looked good together at times.

Hopefully Monk, THT, reaves, and Stanley continue to play better.

Less Bradley and Ariza please.

Some would have him behind KAT too. Not sure I would agree with that one, but Giannis, Jokic and Embiid have definitely surpassed him. Giannis is a top 3 player along with KD and Lebron.

Well all depends. If AD is 100% healthy and giving effort each night IMO he is better than Embiid or I would say I would took him over Embiid if the situation is perfect health wise. And also he proved himself by winning chip as main player. Embiid never won anything.

I only saw some pre-game workout 2 on 2 stuff with AD out there with Baze, DeAndre, Ellington. AD was matched up with DeAndre. To be honest, AD didn't look like he was close to 100%. He was definitely taking it easy. He's capable to move and jump, all that. But there's stuff that we need from AD that we won't ask our other Centers to do, defensively. We're going to expect him to switch onto smalls a lot. So we need to make sure that knee is ready for 30-34 minutes a game of that. We need a fully engaged intense AD, not one that has to be cautious about his knee.

He already showed that when he was the number 1 option.

How quickly people forget his playoff runs.

A healthy and rejuvenated Anthony Davis should work wonders for this team on both ends of the court, once he works his way back into game shape.
We need his defense more than anything else as evidenced by our lowly defensive rating.
I’m excited to have him back. I expect good things from him and a better team effort, as a result, going down the stretch. AD on the WAY!

he had a lot of rest that year. Again this year, so hopefully he can channel that, otherwise we will be just good enough to make it seem like "we just need time" but not good enough to win at a high level.

I think he was talking about in New Orleans.

AD was amazing in 2015 and 2018 in the playoffs. Both times running into the Warriors.

Thats the problem and the hope. He has had a lot of time off so he should be rested. bron will need a rest and AD was unable to do anything with him gone.

The "before he got injured" comment is his reality. he fell apart last year when we most needed him and he was unlucky again this year when we most need him. Now because he is dinged we are fighting for a decent seed.

I don’t know that he was great in the last playoffs and didn’t watch the one before, I was commenting on his playoffs in NO that MJST was referring to. History doesn’t remember the losers and no matter what numbers AD put up, they didn’t result in wins. They had some talented teams, Jrue was the guard who got Giannis a title but couldn’t get out of the first round with AD.

Yep.

It’s all on AD being that guy. Still think they need another wing to legit compete with Warriors/Suns.

Suns looking like the bigger obstacle because the Warriors have been average without DG, and his injury status is still up in the air.
