Quote: | Brian Windhorst:
"I would've said this was impossible for many months, but as time passes here and as the possibility exists that Kidd could be hired as Lakers' coach, the possibility of Kyrie Irving and LeBron reuniting is, that door which was deadbolted has now been un-deadbolted and is now cracked open. And might even be opening more by the day. I say that not because... I think it's on Kyrie's radar, it's on Kyrie's board, Kyrie has had discussions with people about playing for the Lakers." |
Quote: | Jackie MacMullan:
"Yeah. Definitely. No question. I asked him point black Brian, I asked him point black this very question... we were doing a story on, maybe on the NBA happiness story... and I said 'you know what everybody's saying Kyrie, they're saying now you're goin back with LeBron' and he looked at me and he laughed, and I said 'is that a yes or a no' and he laughed again and he put his arms around me, and he left. Determine what you may." |

It’s looking like Irving is gonna be the guy unless he wants to play in the NY market. |

As I said, the Lakers FO can't recruit.
But no one can stop Lebron from.
Lakers FO can be shredded by the media.
However if LBJ is able to convince a peer, no one can do a thing about it.
LBJ knows what he has to do.
Lets see if he delivers. |

But what if Lakers pulled a Lue and just offered Kyrie a 3 year deal? _________________ |

The best case scenario is that we sign Kyrie and Kawhi re-signs with TOR |

Exactly. He knows how to setup a super team maybe even get one of them to take less money |

If you listen to that interview Jackie MacMullan who covers the Celtics was also on that podcast and she can be heard in the background while Windhorst is talking about Kyrie to the Lakers, saying: "yes, definitely, no question."
She even said she asked Kyrie point blank to his face that same question that everyone is thinking he's going to join LeBron in LA, and Kyrie just laughed, gave her a hug, and then left without saying anything. _________________

I am guessing he means if they don't team up on a team like the Knicks together we have more of a chance of getting Kyrie. |

Interesting, because I can think of many better scenarios than that!
We get Kawhi.
or
We get Durant.
or
We get Klay.
And then we trade for AD... _________________ Don't make me give you a trout slap! |

What I mean is that if we know we can’t get Kawhi then the best case scenario is Irving and Kawhi staying with the Raptors. |

It’s amazing players want to play with us despite the turmoil.. something tells me it’s the media trying to make us look bad. |

LBJ, Kyrie, then pull off a trade for AD. That could put us back on the map. Even better if BI gets healthy and we can keep him out of the trade. _________________ Not a legend |

not to be pessemistic but there clearly is a war behind the scene between LeBron/Klutch and Jeanie Buss/stubborn old timers. Lue got low balled because he was not the choice of Jeanie Buss for the petty reason of "not giving into LeBron". i can totally see Laker brass give Kyrie a hom hum meeting, basically say "you're not welcome here, this meeting is all for shows". i hope i'm wrong, but from the look of things, this outcome is very possible. |

Yeah but my line of thinking more had to do with Kawhi..
Irving is probably our best bet and then you can still add AD to a LeBron/Irving lead team. |

Maybe that Simmons angle about Kyrie not working well with Ty Lue isn’t all that out of left field. Then again, Kyrie’s had some issues with BScott, Mike Brown, Blatt, Ty Lue, and perhaps Stevens. |
