This would be the biggest FA acquisition.

Would love it but not holding my breath for it to happen. At his age I'm not sure he wants all the burden of rebuilding the Lakers again, especially seeing how he basically had anxiety attacks watching his squad compete.

Age won’t be an issue. He’s working with his son. Jerry will have the vision and his son Ryan will execute.

If done correctly Lakers can be in the finals next year!

Think about it...

- LBJ
- BI, Kuz, Lonzo, Hart all under rookie contracts
- A Lottery Pick
- $35-40mm in cap space

Jerry is salivating at the opportunity

That bridge is burned. We said no to The Logo, the one who delivered us Kobe, Shaq and Pau.

would you be okay with Jerry West or do you prefer someone who is more fresh like Billups or Kobe?

Fresh as in not knowing what they are doing? Isn’t 3 years of that enough?

Nah his son is here. He always wanted to work with his son. This is the chance and I hope Jeannie is smart enough to see it

Jerry West is a Laker for life and his son works for the Lakers. There's no way the bridge is burned.

Maybe and maybe not but I think Jerry is a sentimental guy and this could his final curtain call... where it all started, with his son, and bringing us back.

She should be on the phone with him right now. Ask him wtf it would take to get him back, who he wants as GM, etc etc.

If anything this shows that we need someone with EXPERIENCE & a PROVEN track record.
I'd love to have Jerry grooming Ryan, Jesse, Joey.
No matter what we are still in good shape despite the current circumstances.
"The sky is not falling." The next few months will be interesting & exciting. GO LAKERS!

I love Jerry West.....I was raised to almost defend Jerry West's name with fists if needed. He is the greatest NBA executive to ever live!

That said, Jerry West is 80 years old, and it would be terrible for West if he even tried to take on that position. West is a perfectionist....he lives and dies with every transaction, every game, etc. when it is his responsibility. Jerry West could easily have a GM job if he wanted one and was capable of performing at a high level in the role. West is great at what he does right now....a very part time consultant. It would be irresponsible for Jeanie to even ask him to take on a full time role.

So hire JW as consultant and have him bring who he wants as pres and gm

I think everyone is saying to bring him in as a special advisor/consultant role.

I hope nobody thinks he should be POBO or GM. But get a guy like David Griffin and let West consult
